Terrific Terrariums
Funded Oct 11, 2022Thank you so much for funding this project for our classroom! Currently, our two terrariums are sitting on top of a bookcase getting sunlight and being taken care of by my students. Everyone contributed to the building of these projects. Each child had a job to do in order to complete each terrarium. Watching them change and grow has been an afternoon activity for my students.
In our forrest terrarium, one student spotted an ant. The kids decided to name the ant, Edward Tulane, after the main character of a book we read. They check on Edward each day, and worry when they don't see him. It's really touching to see the kids asking each other questions about his whereabouts. The desert terrarium has had no visitors, but the kids are still looking!
Thank you again for funding this project! Thanks to you, my students will always know what a terrarium is and can say they made one in the third grade. This has been a learning experience for all of us, and I plan to try and do this again next year!”

Color Pinter Needed for Third Grade Writers!
Funded Aug 12, 2021Thank you so much for this wonderful printer! The children and I are so excited to publish our written pieces! This printer even prints in color, which makes my students even more eager to get their writing done. I am also using the printer to show the children photographs of places they have never been, and this has encouraged their learning of these new places. I feel so privileged to have a piece of equipment like this! Being able to research and print examples of important teaching points make the lessons so much more realistic for the kids. We are so excited for the future, and can't wait to see what we can do with this amazing printer!! Thanks so much!!!”

Funded May 3, 2021Thank you so much for funding this project! I have been able to purchase amazingly interactive lessons from Teachers Pay Teachers. My students have learned so much with these lessons. Everything I needed during the time we were home because of the Pandemic, I could find on Teachers Pay Teachers.
Teachers who are skilled at making interactive lessons for third graders share their work on TPT. I was able to go on the website and search up any topic we were learning about, and then I could purchase the lesson and share it with my students.
I continue to use TPT, and was love all the great lessons. This donation was so helpful in me getting my students to stay engaged with the lessons. That was probably the hardest part, but this donation helped me to do just that!
Thank you again for this wonderful donation!”

Funded Dec 1, 2020Thanks to you, my students were able to use their brand new art supplies to show off all their talented drawings. My students were so happy to be given the sketch book and all the drawing/coloring items. My student teacher and a I bagged up each student's gifts, and handed them out in the parking lot of our school before Christmas. It was the first time we were able to physically SEE our students! We gave each student their bag of art supplies and the kids couldn't wait to get home and use their new things! This was such a wonderful project to write, and even more wonderful to see it get into our students' hands. Each day we have art, the kids take out their new supplies and now we all can do art together. Now, no one can say they don't have any paper, crayons, or markers. It's a wonderful feeding to give children something they truly needed, and Donor's Choose made that possible! (along with all the amazing donors!!!!!!!). Thank you to everyone who helped make this project come to life!!”

Funded Oct 9, 2020Thank you so much for providing the funding for these resources which have helped my students stay focused and learn while remain 100% virtual since the beginning of school. Competing against today's video games for my student's attention is not an easy task. With them being home, there is an increased amount of time they are interacting with technology that looks almost real!! Teaching and getting their attention has provided some obstacles, but the funding for this project has helped me tremendously.
While using TeachersPayTeachers, I have been able to find interactive lessons that my students enjoy! They appreciate having more than just writing on a document for a class lesson. The lessons I have purchased allow the kids to drag and drop, create text boxes, draw pictures with tools, and other exciting ways to learn.
Each time a new skill comes up, I can't wait to go looking for a fun, yet productive way to teach my students. I do not have the technological skills to create the type of lessons I would like to teach my students, so because of this funding, I am able to use a website that provides those choices for me! Thank you so much!”
