Kindergarten Class Transformation III
Funded Jan 25, 2018My kindergarten class thanks you for enhancing their learning. The resources allowed me to create centers. I had a center using the Alphabet Stampers, where students would stamp sight words on play dough. Another center was on the computer using the Let's Learn Phonics game and Phonemic Awareness Game. A third center was using the INstant Learning Centers (Simple Sentences, Sound Switch, Building Words, and Letter Recognition). The three Instant centers allowed for four types of leveling. The name tags were used on every child to place a sight word they were having difficulty with. They carried around and would use it through out the day until they learned it. Thank you so much for making this possible!!!”

Funded Mar 27, 2018I want to thank you for your generosity. The books opened a whole new world for my Kindergarten students. It allowed them to become independent readers, which in turn made their self esteem rise. As a teacher to see their behavior to reading change and foremost feel good about themselves is a dream come true as a teacher. Once I received these books it was easy to move the students up in reading level. The students felt as if finally they had real books instead of the printed books we had. Thank you very much for making my students feel good about themselves!”

Funded Mar 27, 2018I want to say from the bottom of our hearts thank you for making group time easier on the class. The small group easel has allowed me to have interactive work prepared for my groups and I settle the other students in the groups. The mini magnetic boards have been my favorite. They have been used during my mini lessons for math to allow students to write their answers and show me from their assigned rug area spot. But they have been wonderful for the students to use magnetic letters to spell out sight words. Thank you for touching our educational lives with your gift!”

Funded Jan 29, 2018Thank you for your very kind donation, which allowed my class to receive a group table. Your generosity has made a difference in my teaching style and an immediate difference in the lives of my students. This table has allowed me to teach small groups comfortably and efficiently. Before this table my small groups would meet at the carpet area. The students being 5 years old would be moving everywhere and laying down instead of listening to the lesson. The table has focused them and has allowed my lessons to flow easier. The table also allows me flexibility to move from one student to another to listen to them read silently at the table. My students reading levels have gone up because of this. Thank you so much!”

The Transformation of a Kindergarten Classroom II
Funded Oct 31, 2017You made our day with the donations for our classroom. The materials that were donated have truly made my life easier as a classroom teacher. The teach and store chart stand allows me to hang my pocket charts on one side to teach my phonics lessons. The magnetic side allows me use the magnetic Classroom Letter Kits for the students to use during my mini lessons but also during small group time. The Classroom Letter Kit is also being used during center time. The students used it to create sight words they are learning. The centers are now filled with exciting new games that reinforce letters, sight words, and letter sound recognition.
The students were excited with all the new games for the computer and the centers. They continuously ask to play with them. To the students they are fun games, but to me they are a vehicle to learning.
I want to continue to build my centers with new and exciting activities for the students to use. The library center still needs books that are on their level and reinforce sight words. My math center is bare and needs materials too. This is another of my concentrations. I know with the wonderful donors out there like yourself this will become a reality. Thank you”

Transformation of a Kindergarten Classroom Part I
Funded Sep 5, 2017From the bottom of my heart I want to thank you for your donation. When I first started teaching in September I started with nothing since I took time off to raise my own children. The Alphabet rugs allowed my young students a place to sit during circle time. I also used them to practice recognizing and identifying the alphabet. As the students mastered that skill I used the alphabet mat for students to Identify letter sounds. Now I use them to sound out and write CVC words. The listening center comes in handy for my Kindergarten children to hear books that they are unable to read on their own. I often borrow books from the public library so that the children can enjoy listening to them.
The students were ecstatic when we got these materials. The fact that they were able to sit on a warm rug instead of the floor was of triumph for our class. The listening center was and still is a highlight in our classroom. Having the freedom to hear books that they are unable to read is a huge step in becoming independent. We love our listening area!
The next step for our classroom is to continue to add to centers and areas that will make them independent. Our listening area needs more cd/books for the children to hear. My reading area needs book that the children can read on their own. Currently I don't have enough books for the children to take home and read. I also plan to get materials that will reinforce sight words, and alphabet recognition.
Again thank you for making my job easier”
