  • I Am Inundated in Books!

    Funded Apr 17, 2020

I am overwhelmed with your willingness to support my classroom in the midst of the pandemic. My students will definitely be grateful to receive and partake of the knowledge provided in these books. It is because of donors like you that classrooms continue to thrive in the midst of turmoil, this is when and where we find peace.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Gregory

  • Learners On The Go

    Funded Sep 23, 2019

Because of your generosity I am more engage with my students. I am not stuck behind my desk I am up moving around and interacting with my kids while they interact using technology. When paper is required they use clipboards and pencils. Thank you for making my classroom more mobile. I use the Apple Pencil everyday, my students use the clipboards everyday on the carpet during our read aloud. No more using books for a hard surface to write on. The pencils were so appreciated we had parents donate more.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Gregory

  • Superstar Students

    Funded Nov 25, 2018

Thank you so much for the much needed materials for my students. The Storyworks magazines, I must admit are the biggest hit. There is an online component that allows my students to connect with the text before reading it. THEY LOVE IT. The stools are used at the at a group table and the students think its their coffee bar, you know like Starbucks. I have placed the the magnetic tubs behind my small group table and they are used for small group materials for the week; Reading/Writing, Math, Science/Social Studies. The erasers kept falling off of the sides of the desk so they are inside of their book boxes. The book boxes are 10 times better than old school tote trays and it really helps with organization. Finally, the book shelf is being used for our classroom library. Thank you for supporting my classroom, my students and I are really enjoying the much needed items.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Gregory

One of the focal points for this year is to offer students a plethora of books IN the classroom not from the library. I have been fortunate to be off to a good start for books but I need some where to display them and once students begin browsing and choosing they will need some place to store them. The bookshelf and book bins will provide these for my students. Children today are not the same as they were 10 or even 20 years ago. They often require special items to help them keep focused, the kick bands will help ease the anxiety some students experience or just provide a comforting release of nervous energy. My small group table is often crowded and I cannot fit all of the chairs at the table, the stools will help ease that crowding we often experience during small group time. Additionally, the erasers will help with clean up at the students often write on the table. In the past we used wipes to clean up but this becomes messy and it doesn't dry well before the next group. Behind my small group table I have a white board. The magnetic folder bins would allow students to seamlessly grab their folder and have a seat so that I can work with them during their small group time. Because of time constraints, I only have 60 minutes to meet with 20 kids, and some students need more of my time, things MUST move smoothly. Being organized is one aspect of teaching. Finally, Storyworks subscription, this tool is unbelievable it has an online component that allows me to differentiate and scaffold text for any student. It also allows for children to interact with the text BEFORE they read it.
