As a first year teacher, I want to help create a successful environment for my students. Organizing my science classroom in a way that allows students to take ownership of their education is my first step. The bookshelves will be easily accessible by students. They will provide storage for science notebooks, science literature, and kits used throughout the school year. The mailbox and drawer keepers will provide easy access to turning in work and receiving back graded work. This will promote timely feedback for students on how well they are understanding important science concepts.
