Grow Our Learning
Funded Apr 22, 2018All of my students, staff and I would like to thank you for your generous donations towards our class supplies. The supplies that we received, not only impacted students but staff as well. Students greatly enjoyed the social skills games. They have been playing them during social skills groups, learning appropriate behavior and how to play with friends. Some students have been able to take advantage of chewlery to help with sensory needs and to keep them focused in class. New games and manipulatives have been created out of the cardstock, allowing the tools we create to be used repeatedly (this is so helpful!) The Paw Patrol books have motivated students to want to read and keeps them engaged during our reading lessons.
When the boxes began arriving, it was impossible to make students wait until the end of the day to open them! Students ripped right through the boxes to see what was inside! Everyone has been so happy with the new materials and we have such great appreciation for each of you.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Goyette
Our Sensory Room
Funded Sep 15, 2017My students and I are so appreciative of your help in creating our sensory area in our classroom. All of my students have required sensory breaks to help keep their body active, their hands busy, and their brains thinking. Through your thoughtful and generous donations, my students have been able to take structured breaks to help them manage their days in a more productive manner.
The swing has been a huge hit, especially for those who need that physical movement that is whole body. The bubble tube has been a huge earning incentive, as the students look forward to being able to change the color of the bubbles. The colorful therapy putty is integrated into our OT center, helping students build up hand strength and dexterity of their fingers. Students look forward to using the scooter in and out of the classroom, which is a great help for building strength in their arms and legs. Our favorite addition has been the trampoline. All students made and agreed upon rules on when using the trampoline, such as no shoes. We have had many visitors throughout the school come in to check out our area, in hopes that they too can use it.
We thank you once again for supporting out classroom and helping provide us with the necessary tools to make us successful in the classroom.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Goyette
