Plan Time
Funded Jul 18, 2022Teaching US history is a daunting task. I want to keep the kids engaged and interested but also help them remember the facts while still also helping know that our history isn't perfect. I need to be knowledgeable to help them be good citizens.
Thanks to your gifts I have been able to find materials that do everything I need as well as create my own tools. I am reading materials and creating activities from those while not being tied to a desk.
I have been able to also rely on my colleagues from all over as I have been exploring Teachers Pay Teachers and using their curated resources and knowledge which has given me more time to teach and really work with my students instead of being bogged down with finding and creating everything on my own.
I appreciate your support.”

Funded May 4, 2022My students and I truly appreciate you sharing your love of reading. This project allowed me to introduce some high interest books into my library that have gotten even my reluctant readers interested in reading.
When the students first returned to school and I asked them about what they read over the summer, many said "nothing." I book talked these thrillers and read the opening pages of a few of them and they were immediately flying off my shelf. Some of these great reads are part of a series, so I know that will give them other books to read after they finish the first one. Others were stand-alones but that introduced them to a new genre which opened up discussions on trying new types of books and having conversations about other genres like fantasy and dystopia.
Every day my students get 10 minutes of sustained reading and having these books in my classroom has made that more engaging. Thank you for helping me make life-long readers.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Goosen
