In my classroom, we focus on learning to communicate using pictures. Many of my students are non-verbal and use various forms of pictures to communicate. By having these colorful representations of real objects and items, my students are learning to make choices and enhance their communication abilities. By having a printer and laminator in my room, we will be able to get the pictures my students need into their hands quickly. With my project I will be able to easily print in my classroom and have the materials available to my students in a matter of minutes. Right now, I have to upload pictures from my computer and print them to the library. From there, a team member has to go get them, cut them out, send them back to the library for lamination one day a week. Creating the pictures that they need in my classroom will be invaluable to my students.
