  • Supply Stock Up!

    Funded Jan 15, 2025

I am so grateful for your generosity in this project! These supplies will be so helpful in preparing lessons and projects for my students. These basic supplies are used daily and these are going to be so helpful for YEARS to come! Thank you for choosing us and supporting our classroom!”

  • Exciting Economics!

    Funded Dec 29, 2023

This project has been SUCH an amazing resource for our economics math lessons about money and spending. I feel like we not only got our normal "standards knowledge" but the children were able to see great examples within the books of these topics in real life!

The kids especially loved the books I Can Start A Business and Economics Through Infographics. A few of my students even started a bracelet business after reading! The instant learning economy has been great too because it allows the kids to see and match up multiple examples of producers and consumers, wants and needs, and goods and services. These puzzles have really strengthened their knowledge with fun review.

The money kits have also been SO helpful to the students in their learning. Although I did have some play money, these sets are realistic and allow them to have their own little "bank" to help them with their work. We practiced adding coins and bills, spending different amounts, and even making change! Not only did these kits help them practice these important second grade skills, it allowed them to have a hands on experience! It definitely made a huge difference!

Thank you for your generosity and for choosing us to support, it means the world to me and to each one of my students.”

  • Beautiful Book Boxes!

    Funded Feb 8, 2024

I am so excited that this project! These book boxes will help students for years to come! The difference these boxes make for students' day to day organization is incredible. They also allow students to move and use different parts of the classroom easily throughout the day and not be stuck at their seats. These boxes TRULY make a world of difference so THANK YOU for helping make that difference for my students.”

  • Let's See That Library!

    Funded Aug 15, 2023

My library has always been one of my favorite areas of my classroom. It has taken me years and years to purchase and provide books of all ability levels, interests, topics, and genres. I have dreamed about revamping the library into more appropriate categories for years and with your help in this project, I was finally able to. The students LOVE the set up and it allows them to easily find books based on their interests. Many have already read through multiple chapter book series and love when I get a new one to add. They know just how to find what they want and I feel it has only helped to develop the love of reading in many of them. Thank you for donating to our project and allowing us to not only make the library more aesthetically pleasing but also much more functional and easy to use.”

  • Hip Hip Hooray For Headphones!

    Funded May 8, 2023

I cannot tell you what a help these headphones have been this year. I had many students come with no headphones and many come with headphones that were used the last two school years. Unfortunately children's headphones are not built to last, especially when small hands are the ones taking care of them. Having extra sets of headphones for students to use every day has been so incredibly helpful. Students know where to go to get them and utilize them daily during morning work, ELA centers, math centers, and more. The quality is great and they are very durable! This group has even been great about properly storing them so hopefully they will last for years to come!”

  • Perfecting The Paragraph!

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

I cannot believe how excited the students were to get these paragraph writing journals. We have been working so hard to improve our students' writing as it has been a district area of weakness the last few years. We have realized how excited students are to write once they understand the process. Students have been working on completing a very simple graphic organizer within the curriculum and we needed them to see new and different ways to plan and write. This journal shows them multiple ways to brainstorm, allows them to form complete sentences using simple prompts, encourages them to revise and edit, and gives them the space to write a final draft. It also encourages them to share and work with friends. This paragraph journal also includes multiple kids of writing for them to complete like opinion, narrative, and expository. These students are asking to use their journals during indoor recess and when they finish assignments, it's amazing. This is truly a resource that I will continue to order and use each year because it has been such an amazing tool. Thank you so much for contributing to their success and choosing us to support in this project. It means the world to me, and them!”

  • Come On Chromebooks!

    Funded Nov 3, 2022

Thank you so much for your generosity and support with this project. We are SO grateful to have this Chromebook for daily use within the classroom. Second grade students have a lot they have to accomplish throughout this school year in preparation for third grade. One of the biggest things they need to accomplish is computer skills and typing capability because prior to second grade, many don't have computer experiences. In third grade, students are expected to take the state test and we want them to be able to show what they know and not let their scored be altered by lack of computer skills or abilities. This computer has allowed students to have daily time on the computer to type, research, write, read, and even play computer games based on testing skills and needs. This daily exposure gives them not only the ability but also the confidence to perform well.

My students love to use the computers to play learning based games like Prodigy and Edmentum. These programs allow them to use their reading and math skills to pass challenges and earn things, just like the video games they enjoy playing at home. They also LOVE to use the computer to research different topics and write research papers. Recently we all wrote biographies using our Chromebooks. Many also use the Chromebook to write other types of writing and even make books with their friends.

This Chromebook has allowed us so many great experiences and so much more time than we would have had so thank you! Thank you for helping them in so many ways and in so many academic areas. We are so grateful for you!”

  • Boogie Boogie for Boogie Boards!

    Funded Jun 9, 2022

I am so incredibly grateful for your support in this project. Boogie Boards are one of my student's absolute favorite things to use in our classroom. Each student has a Boogie Board in their book box and they use them multiple times each day for a variety of reasons. We use them daily for phonics instruction. During whole group phonics, I will say a sound like long a, and the students will write all of the phonics patterns that make that sound. This is great practice for them to see and write multiple patterns for one sound. We also use them to write multisyllabic words and break their syllables apart. Learning syllable types and how to break words into syllables is a big skill in second grade and this makes the writing fun, easy, and mess free! No dry erase dust or chalkboard mess in this classroom!

We also use the Boogie Boards for math instruction. Students will write and solve math facts, put numbers in order, draw tens and ones, and so much more. They love to write large numbers and figure out where commas would go and even try some multiplication!

My students also enjoy using the boards for little brain breaks. I let them draw on them if they finish something early or after tests. Many of the students even use them during indoor recess or bus time!

These Boogie Boards are so well loved and so appreciated. They are truly a favorite for these students and will be fore years to come I'm sure.

Thank you so much again for choosing us and supporting us in all that we do!”

  • Mark It Colorful!

    Funded Aug 27, 2021

These materials have been such an amazing asset to our learning this year and we are so grateful!

We use the Crayola markers, highlighters, and Expo dry erase markers every single day. We use the Crayola markers to mark phonics patterns in our daily phonics practice. We also mark and show text support for our comprehension questions in our fiction and nonfiction passages. This is so helpful to get students to really understand how to find answers in what they read. We use the highlighters to focus on specific patterns, divide words into syllables, find answers and mark text support, highlight specific numbers or place values, and so much more. Expo markers are also used daily to write equations, spelling words, phonics patterns, and even used to indoor recess fun.

Thank you so much for supporting us and making our learning a little more fun and a lot more colorful! We are so incredibly grateful!”

  • Get It Together!

    Funded Jul 12, 2021

Sometimes the simplest thing can make the biggest difference and these colored folders, markers, and file folders have done just that. We are SO organized and the students are able to quickly find things they need because everything is bright and coordinated!

Students use blue folders for their Fluency packets, green folders for their Daily 5 folders, and yellow folders for their "still working" folder. These three folders get used almost daily so it's so nice to say, "grab your green daily 5 folder" because it helps them find it much faster! We used the file folders to organize our differentiated instruction for morning work, small group reading, small group phonics, and math. Students are able to find the folder with their name on it and get their day's work on their independent level of need. This has made it so easy to adjust as they grow and keep it filled with appropriate work! We use the markers to label our name on the folders and also use them to make posters, projects, and even have some fun with the smelly markers!

Thank you for supplying these materials, it is truly amazing what a help they have been to us this year! We appreciate your generosity and kindness.”
