High Five for Doing the Right Thing!
Funded Dec 10, 2021Thank donors so very much for contributing to my project! I can't begin to tell you how very much excited the students were when we received the supplies. This positive reinforcement strategy is one that I have used for many years. The students do respond to it mostly, I believe, because it is random and given to whomever I catch doing the right thing such as acting kind, helping others, staying on task, showing attention and other positive behavior. I do not give high fives for academics and students cannot ask for one. This is so important now that kids are struggling socially and emotionally. Rewarding not academic behaviors is helping me keep my students happy while they are in school.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!”

Funded Nov 30, 2021I thank you with much gratitude for helping this project happen. This year our entire school has implemented social and emotional health and wellness morning routine. We have focused on many positive ways to cope with stressors that may arise. They include using mindfulness, showing gratitude, performing act of kindness, positive thinking strategies, growth mindset and other positive traits. The bulletin boards are just one aspect of our social emotional learning that we display and share with the rest of the school. In that way we can pass it on!
Thank you again for helping me to help my students.”

Funded Sep 23, 2021We really needed new print rich materials to create an inviting environment and up to date activities to keep us motivated. I'm
So appreciative for your help to fully fund this project.
Creating an inviting and motivating classroom has really helped students feel positive energy No one wanted to return to a dull, old dreary environment.
Reading has been a major focus this year, so new updated and trending activities has helped spark students' interest in learning especially reading.
Thank you for helping me spark students interest and discover of how magical reading can be!”

Funded Oct 11, 2021Having a laminator has turned out to be more than I expected. The class loves having their work laminated. Not only can we keep work clean but the laminating adds an extra special touch. We recently created bookmarks at the end of a fictional reading unit! Laminating those bookmarks celebrated the student's learning. Each student showed how the reading they did the past month will stay with them as part of their lives. We also celebrated student reading lives by creating reading notebook covers. Each cover was laminated and glued onto their reading notebook preserving and celebrating their hard work. More recently students created gratitude trees to express what they are thankful for in their lives. The art work was painted and then laminated to bring home to families to cherish for many years to come!.
Thank you so much for helping this simple but valuable project fully fund!”

Funded Sep 1, 2021Thank you so much for helping me get this project funded. My students are reading so much! They absolutely love the new books! We have learned so many new skills through lessons using these books.
One goal for this year was to have students build up their reading stamina and comprehension skills. Having choice of updated and new and relevant books helps make that job so much easier. Imagine having yellow, old outdated books in your library compared to crisp clean modern books. Not only is it more visually tempting to pick up a new book but the stories told within them are more relevant to today's world. This makes it easier for students to make text connections.
Independent student reading takes place everyday in my classroom. I've heard students laugh out loud at funny parts they read and others gasp when surprised by something that happened in the story! I love it! Amazing power of new books! Thank you!”

Funded May 6, 2021Thank you for supporting teachers and students and for donating to this project. Caring for a plant and watching it grow is always a nice experience for children. This plant is even more meaningful because it demonstrates a cause and effect relationship. This sensitive plant reacts to touch by closing up its leaves. Cause and effect relationships are part of our everyday lives. Our words and actions can have both positive and negative effects on others. I hope that this little activity will remind students of that so that they can remember to always try to be kind to each other.
Thanks to you, my students experienced this meaningful, hands on activities either in the classroom or at home. Thank you so much.”

Funded Jan 29, 2021These crafts brought so much joy to my students and helped them feel some excitement and gratitude.
Although we did not use this during the winter holiday season, we did use it for another very special day. Fortunately, the project was funded in time for Mother's Day. Normally, we would make Mother's Day gifts in the classroom but because my class is partly working remotely, we couldn't do what we have done in the past.
The students made the crafts to give them as Mother's day gifts to their mom, mother-to be or mother figure. We made the craft during our virtual meeting. I was so much fun. The students absolutely loved the Light Catcher's. In fact, they loved it so much, I promised to get them more. It was so nice to see them smile and enjoy themselves so much. It was also so nice to see them so excited to create a gift for someone else.
Thank you so much for helping me make my students so happy.”

School Spirit for New Mascot
Funded Feb 5, 2020It has been a wonderful having this amazing heat-press to create team spirt shirts. This project was fully funded right before the Cov-id 19 shut down so It took some time to actually use it. The original idea was to bring some renewed sense of team work and collaboration 1/2 way through the school year. Because of the Cov-id 19 shut down everything changed. However, the project did not go to waste. We needed team work more than ever. Working together as a team was even more important while in quarantine and learning remotely. In the end, we were able to use create our school mascot tee shirts for each student and have them delivered to their homes. The students were overjoyed to receive the tee shirts and wore them with pride! Thank you to all who have help the project come to life and bring joy to students when they needed it most.”

Funded Feb 10, 2021I can not thank you enough for helping me with this class project. The students were so surprised to receive the rock kits in the mail. It was so nice to see the smile on there face during our virtual meetings letting me know they received the kit. Later, they were even more excited when they were able to show off their amazing creations. Each student presented their completed rock painting project. They painting about ten rocks each with words to express positivity and kindness and some for their own creative expression. Before painting the rocks, we completed an entire unit lesson on the properties of rocks. So, this activity connected Science and Art as well as social and emotional learning. Students shared at least one special painted rock with a family member or friend. I am hoping that these Kindness rocks always remind them of our special time together and to BE KIND ALWAYS. Thank you for helping me give my students this meaningful art/science activity. I hoped it helped spread some love and positivity.”
