Growing Readers Day by Day
Funded Dec 3, 2019Please accept a huge thank you from Class 3-302 for the awesome books and flexible seating. As you can see in the pictures the students are utilizing and enjoying the books and the wobbly cushions and stools.
Reading in 3rd grade is crucial. My students are constantly immersed in reading, whether it be independently to build stamina, whole class to share a read aloud, or in partnerships to have rich conversations and ask questions. The variety of books we received have excited my students to try new genres of books, as well as to challenge themselves to read more high level books. We have been learning about both biographies as well as studying character traits/actions over the past few months. The books you have donated have given my class new and exciting books to choose from.
While the flexible seating is geared towards students that may not be able to sit as long to read or focus on a task, my entire class has been benefiting from them. We aim to allow different students to use them throughout the day, keeping the learning experience exciting!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Santana
This classroom project was brought to life by An anonymous classroom supporter and 6 other donors.K-101 Carpet Time
Funded Sep 19, 2016Dear Donors,
K-101 would like to thank you for donating to my project. When the new carpets arrived and were brought into our room, the students gathered around for the unveiling. They were so excited to help our custodian unwrap them and then even pitched in to help clean up the wrapping. They watched as we unrolled the carpet and the collective "oooh's and ahh's" were amazing. The students had no idea the carpets were coming, as I wanted to surprise them. Well, they were certainly surprised and couldn't wait to find their new spots on the rug.
After the carpets were set up, we had a meeting to discuss who gave us the new items for our room. The children were very happy to hear how people they have never met cared so much to donate to our classroom. We then talked about how we could show the donors how nice the carpets look in our room and they all suggested taking pictures.
My class and I hope you enjoy looking at the photos, especially the one with the thumbs up they are giving for your generosity. Each day as we gather for lessons, buddy up to read on the rug, or when it is play time and we build Legos or blocks on these beautiful new carpets, we will think of you.
Please know that your donations have provided my students with a clean, inviting and just plain beautiful place to learn and enjoy their school days. I thank you for your kindness and devotion to educating our future leaders.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Santana
