Empower Our 2nd Graders: Support Learning and Life Skills
Funded Oct 31, 2024I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for your generous support in fully funding our classroom project. Your kindness will directly impact our students' learning experiences.
The resources you have provided are invaluable in transforming our classroom environment. The team-building materials will significantly enhance our students' abilities to work together and communicate effectively, helping to create a thriving community of learners. With the tools for our classroom economy system, students will have the unique opportunity to apply skills like budgeting, money management, and decision-making in a practical, hands-on way.
We sincerely believe that these activities will foster not just critical thinking but also essential social skills, empowering our students for future success. Your support has made all of this possible.
Thank you once again for your generosity and commitment to the education of our students. We are incredibly grateful for your partnership in building a brighter future.”

Classroom Economy Store
Funded Aug 2, 2023We want to express our heartfelt gratitude for your support, which has made a significant impact on our second-grade classrooms. The new resources we've received have had a profoundly positive influence on our learning environment, and we are excited to share the remarkable progress we've made with your help.
These resources have been instrumental in our efforts to promote positive behavior and teach financial literacy through the implementation of a classroom economy. One particularly memorable moment was when we introduced the concept of counting coins, perfectly aligned with our second-grade standards.
The reaction from our students was nothing short of heartwarming. They were genuinely enthusiastic about having their "own money" and eagerly embraced the concept of our classroom store. This tangible representation of their earnings instilled a sense of ownership and responsibility, contributing to the positive behavior we aimed to foster.
As part of our ongoing curriculum, we started with the basics: the penny, dime, and nickel, gradually progressing to the quarter. This progression has expanded our students' knowledge of coins, making them proficient in recognizing and understanding the value of different coins.
One of the most rewarding aspects of this project has been witnessing our students' growth in their ability to make coin combinations for purchasing items from the classroom store. It's not just about counting money; it's about comprehending the value of different coins and making thoughtful decisions about how to spend their "earnings." This has not only improved their math skills but also encouraged responsible financial decision-making at an early age.
Your support played a pivotal role in making this project possible, and we are profoundly thankful for your generosity. Looking ahead, our second graders will continue to reinforce their financial skills and decision-making processes throughout the year. We plan to further expand our classroom economy, introducing more complex financial concepts and tasks as the school year progresses.
This project has undeniably been a game-changer in our classroom, enhancing the academic experience and instilling valuable life skills in our young learners. We eagerly anticipate continuing this journey, nurturing our students' financial literacy and responsible behavior with the help of these fantastic resources.
Thank you once again for being an essential part of our classroom's success.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Franco-Cortes

Funded Nov 29, 2022I have seen firsthand the benefits of using our Social Emotional Learning (SEL) library in our classroom with my 2nd-grade students. The SEL library is a valuable resource center where my students can access a wide range of books that promote their emotional and social development. Through the SEL library, my students have learned how to manage their emotions, communicate effectively with their peers, and make responsible decisions.
The resources in the SEL library have helped my students develop critical social and emotional skills that will serve them well throughout their lives. I have noticed that my students who regularly use the SEL library have improved academic outcomes and a greater sense of well-being.
Overall, I believe that the SEL library has been instrumental in helping my students become more self-aware, empathetic, and confident learners.”
With gratitude,
