I think of my students as my own kids because they become part of my heart. They are bright, young individuals who have a desire to learn and be creative. My sixth-grade students attend a charter school in Arizona. Parents choose to bring their children here because of the hands-on learning that our school believes in. With the changes in the Common Core Standards, these students are being challenged to read at higher Lexiles than they have in the past.
