Our classroom needs to store supplies for reading stations and books for students' individual reading levels. I have the games and tools to inspire them but you can help these ideas be more accessible to my young students of diverse learning abilities. Our class community consists of families who live in a working class neighborhood hit hard by the recession, a subsequent housing crisis and a local homeless epidemic. They are often mobile, surviving to meet their basic needs. They aren't able to collect heavy books to build into expansive home libraries. These children are dependent on our classroom for their literacy education. Please help these emerging readers get the start they deserve for a lifetime of reading!
