Funded Jul 1, 2021My students loved listening as I read them the new books about famous artists and their style of art. They couldn't wait to use the art materials and try to be the next Van Gogh, Matisse or Cezanne!
Their favorite book was about Van Gogh and his sunflower series. After reading the book to the class a few times, they were ready to create their own sunflower paintings. Using black craypas, they carfully sketched sunflowers onto their papers. Then they used watercolor paints to add color to their drawings. Each one was different and beautiful. When the students brought it home, many of the parents framed the artwork. This project gave my students a sense of pride in their artistic abilities.
Thank you so much for giving my class this wonderful opportunity to learn about and create art.”
With gratitude,
