"The greatest threat to the plant, is the belief that someone else can save it" Robert Swan, OBE. Sixth grade students at Washington Elementary are a unique and diverse mixture of socio-economically disadvantaged students, local State Capitol employees , "mid-town" families, and students that commute from outside our district. Our school was closed for three years, and after reopening as a remodeled STEAM, New Tech Network , Project Based Learning School, our demographics have changed to what I feel is truly a "21st Century" school. We are a beautiful mixture of all economic , social, and ethnic backgrounds.
