With the influx of students experiencing decision fatigue, impulse control, memory and focus limitations I find myself collaborating with teachers more than ever on how to address increased behavior concerns. I was able to fund a pilot classroom with my own money in which the classroom teacher reports improvement in overall behavior of students. I would like to expand this pilot program school-wide. Students will learn when and how to take a brain break as they rebuild their stamina to focus during transitions of in person as well as when needing to learn remotely. With timers and sensory tools. students can self-regulate the amount of time they take a break to help them reboot and get back on task.
