"Why do we have to know about the world when I'm not going to be able to travel?" is a question I get a lot in my class. My students come from backgrounds that do not afford them the luxury of travel, but, I believe in bringing the world to them. I have a lot of students who have no idea about the world around them. I want to make my students excited to see the possibilities that are out there. I want to see the excitement on their faces as we visit the Eiffel Tower virtually, or discover the Inca Ruins in Peru. With these virtual reality headsets I will be able to take them on journeys around the world. The VR headsets will allow the students to visit Paris, or Peru without having to leave the classroom. The virtual reality headsets allow my students to explore in-depth different landmarks that, in some cases, they have never dreamed possible. I hope that this will allow me to capture the excitement of learning and give them a love of traveling without the huge price tag of a plane ticket. I believe that low socioeconomic students need access to technology. The virtual reality headsets in this project will provide students with the ability to virtually travel the world. I believe that the virtual reality headsets will get them excited and maybe a little motivated to want more in their lives. I want my students to be motivated to see what is out there and maybe when they get older to travel the world and explore.
