I have been teaching for over twenty years. Every day, I am inspired by my students. They persevere in difficult circumstances. They are kind and caring. They make me aware of the wonder of our world. I am so fortunate to have the opportunity to see the world through their eyes on a daily basis and to help them continue to learn and grow. The most frustrating part about teaching young children in a high poverty school is the lack of resources. We teachers often purchase many items for our students, but we just don't have the resources to buy all that we need to teach effectively. I am deeply moved to find that there are people who are willing to donate their hard-earned money because they apparently care about my students as much as I do.
