  • Snacks for Hungry Students

    Funded Mar 24, 2025

Thank you so much for your generosity! The students will be so excited to hear the good news. Without your help we wouldn’t be able to provide snacks for hungry students throughout the school day. This means so much to all of us. Thank you again for your donations.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Menna

  • It's All About the Basics

    Funded Sep 18, 2024

I am so very grateful to you for you helping me help my students. When I first submitted my proposal, I knew that some of my students would not be able to afford their supplies. But with the economy the way it is this year, it has been extremely tough on some of my students and their families.

Thank you so very much for helping to fund "It's all about the basics". Tissues and paper towels are like gold in my classroom. We go through two boxes at least per week. Especially with the cold and flu season upon us, these basic needs are met with your generous donations.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Menna

  • Snacks for Newcomers

    Funded Sep 18, 2024

Thank you so very much for making a difference in my students lives. The sheer delight on my newcomers faces when handing out snacks is amazing. Because of their home life, there is little to no money for "extras". Snacks provide important nutrition throughout the day.

Without donors like yourself, my school community would not be able to help the new language learner community. Entering a new country is difficult. Entering middle school is difficult. Not speaking the language is difficult for these students. Food is a universal language!”

    Mrs. Menna

  • Snacks for Newcomers

    Funded May 7, 2024

Thank you so much for your contribution to our campaign of "Snacks for Newcomers". Due to the immigration crisis in NYC, our newcomer population grows weekly. These students are new to our school, the neighborhood and our country. With very little resources available to them, our school helps in any way we can to make them more comfortable during this transition.

Snacks have become scarce for newcomers. There is usually never any extra money within the family unit for such snacks. Without your generosity, we would not be able to supply these students with these basic snacks. Thank you again.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Menna

  • Stem Is a Good Thing

    Funded Nov 1, 2023

Thank you very much for helping fund my project! My students were so excited when we first started using the the stem games. I have already noticed how much it has impacted my everyday teaching. The students scores in math have risen and my students are much more attentive during lessons. I am using the games in conjunction with my sixth grade math curriculum. The games have really changed the way I teach and the way students are learning. My class has become Motivated. Thank you again for your donations.”

  • There Is No Gesture Too Small

    Funded Oct 30, 2023

Thank you so much for your contribution to my classroom. My students have really appreciated the snacks. We have used the snacks as incentives and manipulatives for math work. We also give the snacks to children that come to school hungry or are in need of a pick-me-up throughout the day. With their bellies full, they are able to focus on their schoolwork and learn. Your willingness to give to classrooms is such a relief for teachers during this stressful time. Donors like you make teaching during this difficult time much more feasible. Your contributions are greatly appreciated by all of the staff and students at The Walter Crowley School.”

  • Snacking Good Time

    Funded Sep 20, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donation to my campaign, "Snacking good time". Snacks have become substantial motivators in math class. Having a snack throughout the day helps my students feel comfortable, satisfied and keeps them on task. At my school, most students cannot afford snacks on a daily basis. Due to your very generous donation, students know they can come to me for a snack to keep them going throughout the day. Without donors like you, I would not be able to provide basic snacks to my students. Thank you again!”

  • It's All About the Basics!

    Funded Sep 11, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous contribution to my campaign, "it's all about the basics". Basic school supplies can become very expensive for families at the beginning of the school year. It is stressful enough for parents to start a new school without the added burden of purchasing basic school supplies. The students and parents loved the fact that this burden of purchasing basic school supplies was lifted for them. This could have been accomplished without your generosity. Thank you again!”

  • Charged and Ready to Go

    Funded May 15, 2023

First of all, thank you all so much for your very generous donations. I know you have a lot of choices when it comes to donating, and I am so grateful that you chose to donate to this cause. I promise to be a responsible steward of both your donation and your trust. Thanks to your kind donation, I am able to provide snacks and chargers to my students. Your donation has already made a huge impact.

Keeping students "charged" is always a challenge. My students are always hungry! They know I have snacks available to them, and never hesitate to ask.

We have a lot of work to do, and your generous donation helps us get that important work done!”

    With gratitude,

  • Let's Get Snacking

    Funded Mar 7, 2023

I truly don't know how to begin to express my gratitude for the donations to our classroom. Our students eat snacks 3 times a day. All of our students have healthy appetites. These snack items help diminish significant triggers that can interfere with the learning environment. We have relied solely on donations from parents and it is simply not enough. This donation will help our classroom sail through the end of the year with ease and help us remain focused on our academic progress.

We couldn't do what we do without donors like you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Menna

I teach a diverse population of students ranging from honors, special education, and English Language Learners who come from many different cultural backgrounds and educational needs. We are a Title I school which means that students come from many different social and economic circumstances. My students are challenged to adjust to different settings as the pandemic has affected their normal education. Elmhurst was a very hard hit area from the start and still remains to be a very hard place for the students to be to fully adjust and we must not only focus on math skills but socio-emotional as well. My students are motivated to succeed. They take pride in their education and work hard to thrive in my math class. We talk like scholars, write like experts, think like innovators, and live like leaders. My Project Help give my students the ability to hydrate during the day and stay motivated!
