  • Our Classroom Is Our Home Away From Home

    Thank you for your generous donation to my class. As the boxes started arriving and we opened them one by one, my students could not contain their excitement!

    My students are enjoying using the new hands-on centers and manipulatives. Students are trying their best to earn rewards from our restocked treasure box. The whisper phones are in constant use when reading the new books in our library. When we have free time, more students are choosing to read so they can use the whisper phones as they do. Thank you for making my students more excited about learning!”

  • So Fresh and So Clean!

    Thank you for your kindness to my classroom by funding my project.

    Three words: Clean up time! When I say these words at the end of the day, you should hear the excitement that fills the room. Everyone is eager to use our new cleaning tools, if they are lucky enough to grab a dust pan and broom or be in charge of using the Swiffer to mop the floor.

    We are still taking turns practicing using the vacuum cleaner, but the idea that they are excited to clean and are taking pride in the jobs they are doing to better our classroom is something to be recognized and applauded. Thank you so much for helping us learn these life lessons through your generosity and kindness!”

  • Writers Gotta Write

    With each box of learning materials that arrived, my students were grew more and more excited to try them. Thank you so much donors for your generosity and dedication to helping teachers and our students. My class loves using their Chromebooks with their new wireless mice to easily navigate between writing and language programs. The flexible seating has made our library a cozy place to curl up and read a book or a fun place to battle a friend in a math game. We are practicing writing everyday by using our new journals.     This has been a unique and challenging school year for all of my little learners. We have asked them to grow and learn so many new things, especially when it comes to technology, at a time when some of them are still learning sight words! We accepted the challenge the best we could and though we were asked to stay home and miss out on seeing our friends face to face, we have still found a way to make a connection with one another through our Chromebook screen each day! We are finally back in the classroom and your donation has played a role and bringing a little normalcy to our day by giving my friends new books to read and enjoy in class. Many of my students have an academic need with one or more reading standards. This requires a great deal of individualized planning and content delivery to support their learning. Our school has made the "BIG" investment into literacy enhancement by providing teaching staff with additional training and materials and by purchasing literacy technology that students can access at home and school to foster their growth in this content area. My project will support reading development for my students on an individualized, meaningful level that will promote early literacy. Students will have equal access to these materials so that they are able to access literacy technology designed to support their needs as English Language Learners and developing readers. The students will be able to utilize these iPads individually throughout the day and access programs that are designed to meet their unique needs as developing readers.

About my class
