  • Young Scientist Lab!

    Funded Oct 3, 2021

Wow! We are LOVING our new science materials! I can't explain the excitement I see from the kids when they get to actually participate in the experiments and see science come alive. Our favorite activity so far was when we learned about dry ice. We used our graduated cylinders to house the dry ice, and saw what happened when we added hot water, then bubbles. The students were all wearing their new safety glasses, and the large size of the cylinders made it easy for them to see what was going on inside. Thank you for this amazing opportunity!”

  • Going the Distance for our Kindergartners!

    Funded Jan 18, 2021

Wow, we are so grateful for your support! We have been able to purchase some exciting resources to use with our distance learners! To make things more engaging, we bought some cool space units and plant units tailored to our student's interests.

We are currently looking at some new resources that we can use during rotations since we are returning to the classroom this month. We are so grateful to be able to choose some theme based activities that will allow our in-person learners some fun learning opportunities which will allow us time to focus on small groups, and our online learners. Thank you so much!”

  • Bringing the Classroom Home!

    Funded Sep 16, 2020

It has been so much fun to distribute these materials to our students! They were so excited to get a giant bag filled with fun and exciting learning tools.

We use our tools in a variety of ways for our learning. We use the watercolors for our directed draw paintings, the pom poms for addition/subtraction manipulatives, the legos for counting, etc.

Our new favorite game is word building in the bathtub! We were able to explain how to play this game to parents during our testing sessions, and many students have told me how much they love to "play"...should I tell them they're working hard? No, let's let them "play'!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Dilling

  • Off to the Races!

    Funded Aug 13, 2019

Wow! I expected that my students would love our new Morning Tubs, but I underestimated how much it would change the pace and tone of our mornings.

Upon entering the classroom, my students head right for the new chart that shows which tub they will be using. As they pull the tub and start working with their partners, they are instantly connecting with their peers and engaged in learning. Plus, the tubs are full of fun activities, so their excitement level is more intense. Another added bonus I hadn't realized is that the kids are much quicker to say goodbye to their parents and to get to work.

Thank you for providing us with these materials! They have absolutely changed our mornings and we are so grateful!”

  • Sit On It!

    Funded Aug 13, 2019

We are LOVING our new Sit Spots! As soon as they arrived, I numbered the sit spots and left them on a table for a few minutes.

In the short amount of time after I walked away, the kids had scooped them up and (without prompting) passed them out and started sequencing them. They were so proud when they worked together to get them all in order. Once they saw the other pile (of a different color), they had lots of ideas about how to use them. "We can make a pattern!" "Let's have a race to see which team can do it faster!"

I am always amazed at the creativity of kindergartners! Thank you again!”

  • STEM Through Play

    Funded May 28, 2019

Wow! We can't thank you enough for your generous donation to our classroom! The creativity is flowing, and the students are super excited to be building and creating with our new resources. The LEGO Education sets are very popular, the kids love the one where they can use tunnels to make slides for the LEGO people! I've been surprised to see how many ways they've come up with to use the magnetic rods and every day someone wants to share their new creation to hear the "Oooooh"s and "Ahhhhhh"s of their classmates!

What a great opportunity you've given to our kids. Thank you for "spicing up" our free play chioces and getting our creative juices flowing!”

  • Healthy Food = Healthy Kids

    Funded Jan 24, 2019

The Farmer's Market is OPEN for business! These little entrepreneurs are busy sorting food into the corresponding baskets (fruits, vegetables, protein, and bread), choosing healthy food options, practicing adding and subtracting with our new cash register, and labeling items with prices at our store. The market is always the first center filled up during playtime. It's fun to listen in on kids' conversations as they pretend to sell or buy food and interact with one another. Thank you for supplying us with everything we needed for this new venture!”

  • Making Healthy Choices and Healthy Food

    Funded Jan 16, 2019

My students are having so much fun with all their new play food! Their imaginations are running wild. So far, they have opened a smoothie stand and a "salad restaurant" with their new, healthy play food. They have learned the names of several vegetables they hadn't previously known, and are "cooking" up lots of tasty dishes in our classroom kitchen. Thank you so much for providing my students with this opportunity. I really do think that this will help them make healthier food choices. Many kids are already choosing white milk instead of chocolate milk at lunchtime, yay!”

  • Serving Our Students, and Our Community

    Funded Dec 17, 2018

One of the most awesome moments from this experience was to see the joy and pride our student volunteers felt while being able to provide others with these healthy food bags! While our students are compassionate and caring, many of them don't have the means to give much to others because they are struggling themselves.

For them to feel what it is like to be able to be generous and provide for others was amazing to see. Thank you so much for not only providing food for our families in need, but also for giving our students an opportunity to feel like THEY can do something to help others!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Dilling

  • Serving Our Community, and Our Students

    Funded Nov 29, 2018

What a great opportunity you provided to our students and families! So many families were provided with healthy foods to get them through the school break. The families were so grateful. We received a thank you letter from one of our third grade students which brought everyone to tears. The peace of mind that she got from that big bag of food was priceless. This little girl (who eats two of her meals each day at school) didn't have to worry that she would be hungry over the break when school was closed. It's amazing how something like that can make such a difference to someone!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Dilling

These learning centers will be used by students as a way to independently practice skills we've been learning and my favorite part is that they won't even realize they're actually doing WORK! The great thing about the Phonemic Awareness Instant Learning Centers is that they cover a variety of important skills and set kids up for success by including visual instruction cards and color-coding materials to facilitate student organization, a skill we are always working on. The Stack & Build Flip Books make an abstract non-visual concept concrete by allowing kids to manipulate the letters and visually see how that changes the words. While playing with the Phonics Learning Locks, kids will not even realize that they're actually working on difficult skills and improving their fine motor skills. I can not wait to get these centers in the hands of my eager little learners and have each student working on a "just right for me" project that is engaging and fun! Thank you for considering my project!
