Flexible Seating to Flex Our Brain Muscles
Funded Dec 1, 2020As you can see my classroom looks so comfy, homey and accessible now and it is many many thanks to your generosity! I have been dreaming of flexible seating for my students since I started teaching and have tried several times to get them. It took a long time to get to this point and I am ever so please with the result. All of my effort was so worth it.
Seeing the excitement when my students get into my classroom and "fighting" over who gets to sit where really gives me the feeling that they enjoy being in my classroom and be a part of my group. I do assign them where to sit and we do a rotation so they can experience each seating throughout the course of the year.
Students are able to complete their tasks while enjoying the variety and vibrant colors options of the seats. They are more upbeat and ecstatic when they come to our class daily and that makes for one happy and content teacher. One effective way of managing engagement and classroom behavior are flexible seating as motivators. Thank you once again!”

Funded Dec 1, 2020These masks are the best! I am able to see what my Kindergarten students say behind their masks to check if they are forming their mouths correctly when saying a sound or reading a word. Without these masks, it would take us double the time in learning our letter names and sounds. Another bonus is seeing my students' smiles behind the masks.
Your generous donation reached all 52 ESL students at our school. Majority of whom have returned to in-person learning. They were all so excited on using their masks as it was "special" because of the window panel. It made for a wonderful motivator and provided something to look forward to during the school day. We are trying to ensure we keep them visible with minimal or zero fogging throughout the day.
Students will continue feeling successful while I enjoy the convenience of teaching and evaluating their skills without feeling like the mask is a hindrance to their growth and learning.”

Funded Jan 19, 2021This headset will enable me to reach both my virtual and in-person students for our after school yoga classes. This will mean so much for my students' mental and emotional learning especially during this time of limited interaction with their peers. Thank you so much for making this possible for us. Because of your generosity, the mental and emotional impact of this pandemic will be processed well by my students through the practice of yoga poses for mindfulness. May you and yours be blessed because you deserve it for all the goodness and kindness you sprinkle around the world to make it feeling better.”

Funded Dec 1, 2020This computer is a total lifesaver for me. I have gone through at least six devices with remote learning this school year and they all failed me because they did not have enough power to keep up with the websites, platforms, presentations, and files that I have to go through per class to have a successful lesson.
It is very exciting for myself and the students because we don't experience as many glitches as we used to. No lagging and we are able to view all the necessary resources that we need for our every lesson. On top of that, I am able to give out Class Dojo (rewards points) in real time, which really helps with student engagement and motivation.
Because of this faster device, I am able to hold my students' attention; most especially the ones who easily get distracted. We are able to play online games such as Quizizz and Kahoot and that really gets everyone excited. Thanks to you for your kindness and generosity that I am feeling successful with online teaching. What a different you have made for me and my ESL students.”

Funded Jul 29, 2020This project lessened the expenses of parents by no longer having to purchase lap boards and dry erase markers for their kids to use during virtual instruction. Thank you for alleviating the hardship for my ESL student families. Through your generosity, they feel cared for and looked after by the school.
When students found out about receiving these materials, they were excited and wanted to get started with learning ASAP. They have been using it to practice writing numbers, letters, words and phrases or just doodling during break time. As you can see with the pictures, they are having a lot of fun with it!
These lapboards will be used this year and the upcoming years for student application of learning, be it virtually or in-person when schools finally open back up.”

Funded Aug 14, 2019I wanted to express my wholehearted gratitude for allowing my to direct the funds for this cancelled conference towards resources I can use for my teaching this upcoming year.
With the amount that was granted me, I was able to purchase a lot of materials for my classroom. During that time, I did not know if we were going full time in-person, virtual or hybrid so I mixed and matched the resources for any of these scenarios. Because of your generous heart this project allowed me to purchase a colored printer, ink, laminator, laminating sheets, card stock, copy paper, mouse and mousepad that allowed me to design and print durable bulletin board items for my virtual classroom to make learning colorful and more engaging for my young learners. Not only do I get to use my creativity but also save money buying ready made posters and focus wall items. The diversity books, Lakeshore games, headphones and 4th grade journals will be used during virtual instruction and will add some fun to our content lessons delivered online. While the carpets we will enjoy thoroughly once school opens back up for in-person learning. We will finally be able to sit on a carpeted floor for whole group and small group time instead of students staying at their desks all the time.
With travel and funds permitting, I do look forward to going to the TESOL conference in the future to get some valuable PD I can apply to grow my teaching pedagogy.”

Funded May 15, 2019Having my own classroom library has been a dream since starting to teach 7 years ago. I just did not have the funding available to have one. Now I do and it has been an awesome resource in my classroom. The books that came with the package has given me the ability to set up leveled groups and provide targeted instruction on reading skills and comprehension strategies with my English Language Learners. Helping them navigate through their new language on their level will surely help with learning content and English at the same time. The activity sheet that come with each pack is also proving very helpful to reinforce what the students are learning. My eager Kindergartners are noticing the pictures and drawing them to show understanding of the text as shown in one of the photos. I cannot wait to see them soar this year and ace the language test in the Spring! I am also planning on expanding my library in the years to come. I am extremely grateful to you for making this wish of mine come true.”
