Catching Up from Covid!
Funded Aug 31, 2023Thank you for supporting our classroom! We received so many resources to support our students with reading skills and social emotional skills that they fell behind on due to Covid.
Some of the main resources that we received from you were kits to work on reading skills such as identifying main ideas and central messages in text, cause and effect, decoding short vowels, decoding long vowels, and advanced vowels. These are all areas that students were showing deficits in.
We have all of our small group reading instruction under way now with the new resources. I am able to group kids based on the needs they are demonstrating with reading skills and we have consistent materials to work with. The students are excited about small groups because they love the new skills and stories we are working with! Thank you for making our learning come alive again!”

Funded Jun 26, 2023Thank you for generously supplying all of the organization tools (supply tubs, bins, storage boxes, labels, pencil dispenser, etc.) for our classroom that are helping my students lead the classroom. Because of your generous donations, I have been able to set up a system of organization that makes our classroom run more efficiently and effectively. It is truly a thinking classroom! The students are able to store their everyday supplies in a way that helps them to keep track of their things, we are able to move and randomly change groups throughout the day to encourage increased participation and learning. The students can get out their own learning games and activities as well as clean them up knowing exactly where to find things easily through the day. Thank you for maximizing our learning and helping my amazing students independently lead their learning!”

Funded Aug 5, 2022Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the generous donations you have made to our classroom! We now have a beautiful and functional rug area where we can spread out and explore math through investigation, games, activities, and models. Our learning truly is extended when we are able to work and explore with hands on time with math. We are able to run multiple activities and teams so everyone gets lots of choice and lots of turns now that we have a wonderful rug area to set up in. This makes us happy and super excited about learning math. We are constantly asking Mrs. DeLacy if we can go work on the rug! This is a perfect space for all of this exploration and learning thanks to you!!! Thank you again!”

Funded Jun 1, 2022Your generous donation to our classroom has had a big impact on the way our classroom looks and feels as well as the functionality of an area that was of little use to us before we were able to "re-model". With the materials provided to the "Help Mrs. DeLacy's Students Have a Beautiful Classroom," we have been able to brighten up our room in an old and outdated building by adding color and workable space. Our classroom has a very cheerful feeling from the moment we walk in each day thanks to the materials we received from you to improve our learning space.
When our new whiteboards and colorful border were installed, the kids immediately noticed the big change in our room. They commented on how much bigger and brighter our area looked. Many of them said it gave them a happy feeling to be in our classroom! We now have dedicated space to post our learning goals in one consistent space. The students know exactly where to look when we break down our learning goals and discuss what we are working on each day. It has really helped them to have better focus on their daily learning and be very clear with what they need to understand to be successful. We also have a space to model thinking and post anchor charts and exemplary work thanks to more usable space - the students LOVE having a space to model thinking!
The next steps I will be taking to make our classroom even more amazing is to raise funds to be able to incorporate more "Hands On" activities and materials in our classroom. Students retain and learn much better when they have tangible experiences with concepts and I would like to be able to provide more meaningful learning for them.
Thank you again, from the bottom of our hearts, for helping make our classroom the BEST!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. DeLacy
