Child Sized is Child Centered!
Funded Aug 2, 2023Thank you for the tiny tables! We use them in a variety of ways and things are more accessible and child-sized. Our classroom is broken up into many centers and spaces for all children to feel comfortable and these have helped tremendously. I am currently using one table as an ofrenda for Day of the Dead! We also use one for our mailbox and it is our classroom mail center! Thank you so much for helping my classroom grow! You make a huge difference in the lives of wonderful children! The photo I have attached shows our ofrenda and other ways we are utilizing our tiny tables! Thank you again!!!”

Funded Jul 26, 2023This small Safe Place is a great little cube that my students often retreat to if they're having a hard time. These moments may spur from a small misunderstanding or difficulty taking turns. This place is private enough that they may feel isolated in cases where they really do need to collect their thoughts, consider their emotions, or just breathe. I am so happy it came with a small soft pad to keep it safe and comfortable for sitting. I also love that it has large circles so I still can see students and encourage conversation when appropriate. Thank you for providing this. It will be treasured for years to come, a lovely addition to our child-centered classroom!”

Funded Feb 14, 2023Thank you so much for these basic art supplies. This year we have enjoyed studying Frida Kahlo and creating our own first self portraits. This is something we will do again at the end of the year, for a side-by-side comparison. The growth is always remarkable! We have enjoyed learning about primary and secondary colors, working with clay, paint, and our light table.
As this year progresses we are marble painting hot air balloons, crafting haunted houses, water coloring our planet, Earth! I love having access to necessary consumable materials to keep my students busy, engaged, and thriving creatively. Thank you for making so many awesome and child-centered experiences available to my students. We thank you greatly!”

Funded Jun 15, 2023Thank you so much for providing items such as fidgets, weighted blankets, and other sensory toys for our "Zen Den." The students have been using the items to regulate emotions and help them cope with any stress in our classroom. I have been taking time daily to teach thoroughly in a step-by-step manner how to utilize the tools in our Zen Den. I definitely see improvements in my students social and emotional well being thanks to these items.
I cannot thank you enough for providing my students and me with the items we need to be successful. Your generosity and love are unmatched and we appreciate you so greatly!!!”

Fill Our Community School’s Food Hub!
Funded May 9, 2023One thing that research has shown is that community schools work. By knowing our communities, we can better adapt to meet needs and effectively problem solve with families. One of the greatest needs right now in my beautiful community is very basic: access to food. Our only superstore recently shut down and this has been incredibly devastating for our families.
As an exemplary community school one of our greatest and most utilized assets is our International District Food Hub, housed on our campus. Your loving donation has helped tremendously and the easy to transport, low prep items you have provided are always the first items to feed grateful families. Thank you for helping us thrive; we feel and appreciate the love!”

Funded Dec 28, 2022Thank you for my little handy Shark vacuum. This year has been brutally understaffed. While I have the talent to clean my room, I truly needed a vacuum to keep this place neat and tidy! I appreciate your love and generosity so very much. It is so wonderful to have just the right tools to keep my room clean. A clean and fresh environment sends the message to my students that they're worth it and that school is a wonderful and BEAUTIFUL place. I appreciate you and your loving generosity so very much!”

Film for our Camera!
Funded Dec 15, 2022I want to thank you very sincerely for the film for our InstaxCamera. I cannot tell you the joy it brings our students. They are able to find their smiling faces all around our classroom and I no longer need to scramble and pay to print photos at Walgreens. We use them to document our learning fun in the classroom, on our attendance chart, and for family gifts. Next week we will be taking photos of the children to put in a handprint bouquet that we will be sending home to "moms" for Mother's Day. I couldn't do what I do without your love and generosity! Thank you so much!”

This food hub is a source of joy, comfort, and nourishment for our community. We are going through our food faster than ever before. The items you provided made a huge difference and we cannot thank you enough. I will continue writing these grants to help keep it full. Funded Nov 18, 2022These magnatiles are consistently a favorite among my students! Working with 2 dimensional shapes to create 3 dimensional structures, zoos, cities, "happy meals," and more has been great for their critical thinking skills. Students are also building friendship,
collaboration, and problem solving skills. Working together, students build as a team effort, learning from one another. The new animals have been a huge hit. Thank you again for bringing new and exciting toys and resources to my lovely students! 💜”

Replace our Table!
Funded Oct 18, 2022Thank you for helping me keep a functional classroom by providing me a new table! From art to cooking, from math to science, even just practicing our names: tables are essential!! One of the table legs broke off this year and I was so relieved to replace it. We have been having so much fun learning this year and your generosity and love undoubtedly make our classroom a better place. I hope you enjoy these photographs! One of them shows light scattering from the morning winter sun shining on our disco ball! Thank you again for always helping us shine!!”
