I have been a teacher for the past 30 years. It has always been my passion and I try to bring the passion into the classroom every day. When you walk into my classroom you won't see children sitting in their seats quietly. You will hear what some people call noise. I hear problem solvers, collaborators, peacemakers the future!
It's literacy center time! Children are in different areas of the room. One group of children are listening to a book and responding to the text. Another group is at a learning center game recording their answers on their paper. The teacher-led group is using guided reading books to work on fluency and comprehension. The word work group has a sight word lesson where they are unscrambling the words to make a complete sentence and writing the sentence on their paper. The last group of children are in a writing center using a writing prompt about candy. Which candy is your favorite and why?
