The students in my room are fabulous... all 33 of them! My students have an insatiable desire to learn about the world around them through books. I am the most blessed teacher on Earth! My school is a 100 year old public school, and last year we transitioned into a traditional academy. We have terrific parent support, but I cannot bear to ask my parents to support a classroom set of Time For Kids. My third graders have differing reading abilities, ranging from a 1st grade level to a 7th grade reading level. Finding texts that support their reading and interest levels is difficult. However, the most difficult thing to do is to find informative texts that have my students' interest. Time for Kids is an incredible resource that engages all learners, even at different abilities.
