Essential Materials for Distance Learning
Funded May 1, 2020Words cannot completely express how grateful my students were to receive the items you made possible for me to purchase. Being isolated at home without technology, most students were not able to join our classes during quarantine. Most of my students also did not have any school supplies or books at home, as we closed without any advanced notice. Delivering books, art supplies, games, puzzle books, dry erase boards, and so many more items brought so much joy to all of my students!
I am still in contact with my students at the next grade level. They love to tell me about the books they read and what their favorites were. They also love to talk about how they played their games and practiced their math facts.
Thank you again from all of my students!!!”

iPads for Information Technology!
Funded Apr 25, 2019Thank you so much for your contributions to the purchase of I-Pads for our classroom. My students have already expanded their knowledge of technology in the short time we have had them.
They have used them to work on individual learning paths, which support students in any unfinished learning or enrichment that is appropriate, and they have used them to play educational games that support their reading skills.
The students have also had extra practice sharing, taking turns and collaborating on a variety of activities. We are so thankful for your donations.”

Funded Oct 9, 2015My students are having a great time building with the K'Nex sets and participating in STEM activities that I have planned using the resource books. I am so excited at the possibilities yet to come. The teamwork, planning and testing that the students need to do as they build has been phenomenal to watch. The opportunities that await these kids are limitless. My students have been perusing the resource books planning our next activities. I can't thank you enough for your generosity and your donation.”

Students Inspired by STEM!
Funded May 6, 2015Your donation is so very appreciated by many students. The STEM kits provide enough materials for small groups/pairs of students, and I have begun working with students on STEM-related tasks. They have been so excited as they design, create and test their products! The conversations they are having and the connections they are making to careers, such as engineers, are invaluable. Videos and classwork do not bring experiences to life in the same way as hands-on materials. These kits will support STEM-related learning activities for many students. Thank you for your generous donation.”

Funded Sep 23, 2014My students were so happy when they received the basketball hoops and basketballs. We could not get them assembled fast enough for them to try the hoops out!
The students are now able to exercise during recess time and they are also learning social skills, such as taking turns and playing games with others. It is vital for students to have the opportunity to develop skills for communicating with and getting along with peers, skills for solving conflicts and skills for engaging in different types of physical activity.
When students are able to play and exert energy outside of the classroom, it helps them to prepare their minds to focus when they return to work on their academic content. The time to play and interact with their peers also helps the students get along better in the classroom. The basketball hoops and balls are so greatly appreciated by all of my students.”

Calculators For Class
Funded Oct 30, 2009My fifth grade students and I are so appreciative of your generosity in purchasing calculators for our classroom. I can't effectively express how excited my students were to not only be able to use them in class, but to come up with a system for locking them up and preventing anything from happening to them.
My students are from a high poverty, high crime area and they are so proud of their new calculators that they are treating them like gold. We have already incorporated the use of the calculators into several lessons and you would be so pleased to know that they have been such an asset to our lessons.
Thank you again for your generosity. You have added a valuable tool to aid in my students' quest to acquire the math skills necessary to succeed in life.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Alexander
