  • Full Bellies = Fueled Brains

    Funded Dec 10, 2019

What a great surprise for my students to come back to these boxes after winter break! They were SO excited to see all of the snacks. Many students stop in guidance when they are having a bad day or need a little boost. Offering a snack is the least we can do and one they often are so grateful for! In the beginning of the year, I was buying these snacks myself, but they go so quickly - I couldn't keep up. I am SO grateful for donors like you who find it in your heart to donate to keep away hunger and brighten my students' days. Thank you so so much - we TRULY appreciate your kindness and generosity.”

    With gratitude,

  • Full Bellies = Fueled Brains

    Funded Oct 30, 2019

Snacks, snacks, and more snacks! These kids love snacks - no matter what age! Our students come to us with many different needs, but sometimes a snack is just what they need to finish out their day. I have also found that snacks can be a great reward! Our kids are so kind and always willing to help us, so I like to give them a little treat to show I'm grateful and they are so appreciative! I've also had students come to me in the morning because they were running late and didn't grab breakfast, but they need some energy to start their day. This project has helped me fulfill their needs in so many ways. We are so grateful for your generosity - thank you SO much for completing this project for us!”

  • Come As You Are

    Funded Aug 14, 2019

This project has given me the opportunity to start the year off strong with a cozy, inviting, and safe wellness space. Thank you so much for allowing me to provide this space for my students! When I first walked into my office 2 weeks before school was about to start, I saw bare walls and carpet. Looking at the pictures, you can now see fresh paint, modern decor, an inviting message on the back wall, two cozy chairs, and an accent rug to bring it all together. My students love coming to my office to calm down, relax, and regroup. We are so grateful for your generosity. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!”

  • iThink iCan With an iPad!

    Funded Aug 5, 2019

This year I was given the opportunity to pursue my career as a school counselor. With that being said, some of our materials have come with me to high school. For this particular project, one iPad and the cart stayed at the elementary school and one iPad came with me to the high school. I can't say enough about how this project has impacted students in both places!

At the elementary school, students are using the iPad to listen to reading while the general education teacher works in small groups to teach students at their individual reading levels. The kids LOVE it! They use programs like Speakaboos and Epic to listen to stories and follow along with the interactive videos that go along with what's being read. The cart is being utilized to hold all of the technology to keep the classroom clutter free and to keep the technology safe and easily accessible.

At the high school, students are utilizing the iPad in our guidance office to sign up to see a counselor. This allows us to keep track of who we see and for what reasons. Students can also use them to apply to colleges and to sign up for tests like the ACT and SAT.

We are SO grateful to have these materials in both places. Thank you SO much for your support in our schools. We greatly appreciate it!”

  • A Mini Fridge for Our Mini (Insect) Friends

    Funded May 14, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donations toward this project! Our second graders had so much fun this year learning about life cycles and how living things impact our environment. With that being said, we needed a mini-fridge to keep their food fresh. This project allowed us to supply our mealworms with fresh carrots and potatoes and fresh clementines to our butterflies. Our students were able to easily access the food with the mini-fridge being in the classroom. It gave them daily responsibilities to take care of our insects, which they loved! We are so grateful for your support - thank you again!”

  • Showcasing Success With an Apple TV

    Funded May 19, 2019

WOW! This project totally amazes me. You can see in the pictures how amazing it looks in our classroom and how truly excited our students are to have this. Not only is it "cool" that we have a flatscreen TV in our room - we can use it for so many different things! This has been great for when we want to pull up a quick video during a lesson. The Apple TV features make it accessible and easy to use. The most amazing thing we are doing with this in our classroom is during small groups for phonics support. My students sit in at a round table during our small group sessions that face the TV. We can pair the iPads with the TV to allow students to show their work on the big screen. They love to watch themselves write their spelling words using the phonics skills we're learning on the TV. It's an amazing feature that they get so much joy out of. Thank you SO much for your support with this project - it has truly been a highlight in our classroom this year!”

  • Pardon Our Learning, We Need Partition Boards!

    Funded May 14, 2019

Thank you SO much for your generosity! These partition boards have made a huge difference in our resource room! When I first learned that I was going to share a room with multiple teachers throughout the day - I wasn't sure how it would work. My students were distracted and not performing to the best of their abilities due to the constant commotion. My students were so excited to see the partition boards put together and placed throughout the room. We are able to sit in our small groups and work while others come in and out of the room. The best part is that they are also used as whiteboards! My students love to practice their spelling words on these boards. The fact that they are on wheels makes it SO much easier to move throughout the room as needed. We greatly appreciate your support in our classroom. Thank you again!”

  • Speakaboos, We Want to Listen to YOU!

    Funded Jul 4, 2019

We can't thank you enough for your donations toward this project. Speakabooks has completely transformed the way we teach reading in our 2nd grade inclusion classroom. While the general education teacher and I teach small groups based on the students' individual reading levels, the rest of the class is given the opportunity to choose whether they want to listen to reading, read with someone, read to self, or work on writing. Almost ALWAYS, students choose to listen to reading or SPEAKABOOS!

Our kiddos love how interactive this program is. They can use a Chromebook or an iPad to listen to stories and watch the interactive videos that go along with what's being read. We love that the program runs the text along the bottom of the screen for students to follow along. Again, thank you SO much for giving our students access to this amazing website/app. We greatly appreciate your support!”

  • Students' Voices Should Be Heard!

    Funded May 16, 2019

These microphones have made ALL THE DIFFERENCE in our inclusion classroom. With inclusion comes multiple adults - the general education teacher, intervention specialist, and intervention assistants. While we love having all the help we can get, it can also create a lot of background noise. These microphones have allowed us to ensure all students hear our instruction with minimal distractions. Additionally, we have allowed students to utilize the microphones to do read alouds, presentations, and simply giving answers and sharing ideas during instruction. We have noticed a huge difference in some of our reluctant to share students as they are so motivated to get their hands on the microphone. These were a huge hit this last school year and we can't wait to utilize them again this year. Thank you so much for your generosity toward our second-grade classroom!”

  • Free Us From Our Desks With the MimioPad!

    Funded May 17, 2019

We are SO excited to use this Mimiopad with our new Mimio interactive whiteboard this year! The Mimiopad will allow us to access us all of our students across the room without having to be teaching from the back of the room at our desk. We can manipulate whatever is on the board with the pad to keep the interaction going. We can't wait to allow students to pass around the Mimiopad around to interact with our lessons as well. They can share their ideas and work by using the tools that the Mimiopad has to offer. We can't wait to introduce this to our upcoming class. Thank you SO much for your support! We greatly appreciate your generosity!”
