Accessing Art More Easily
Funded Aug 21, 2019My art room has gotten a real face- lift from the addition of these materials. The board that was in my room has been here for at least a half of a century and was not a real chalkboard at all, the green paint applied to it was bumpy and peeling. This new magnetic whiteboard allows me to write out instructions clearly and within view of every child in the room. I can hang posters, examples and visual aids with magnets without damaging the materials with scotch tape. The mounted projector makes viewing presentation and demonstrations from any point in the room a breeze as well! No need to worry about walking in front of the projector. My floor space has also greatly improved with the removal of my projector cart, so it is easier for all students to access their seat in the little art room. Thank you so much for contributing funds for our space, you all make me feel supported in the improvements I have fought so hard to make in our room.
Without Donor'sChoose and all of you, I would still be writing on an old dingy chalkboard using an overhead projector with transparency film. My students would still be bumping into each other, pinching fingers between seats, struggling to see what I am trying to teach them. Really, thank you, thank you, thank you!”

Funded Dec 30, 2017These new chairs are amazing, they are even better than I had hoped for! They are light, bright and easy for my students in all grades to maneuver! They are such an improvement over the last chairs, a truly needed upgrade (I'm not even sure how old those chairs were; 30, 40 years). The students have been thrilled, they were excited to hear that we were actually getting them and since they came, my art students have been loving them! I think they will be treasured for years to come, they feel very durable and with their GREENGUARD Gold Certification, they are sustainably manufactured and emit very low VOCs. They are something to behold and to truly be proud of, I am so ecstatic about these chairs!”

Gelatin Printmaking in the Little Art Room
Funded Mar 9, 2016We are loving our new gelatin print plates, my students have had such fun with them. In fact, they love them so much, I have started using them as a reward for good behavior. My classes can earn a reward day periodically for excellent behavior and when they do, they get a "Gelli Day." I demonstrate a new printing technique and they can make as many prints as they like during class and then we clean up for the next group. Even my substitutes like to do it!
Thank you all for bringing these resources to my students! They will love them for years and we are already taking extra special care of them to make sure they do. We are so blessed to have such wonderful people around us, people who care so much about our school and our students!”

Upgrades in the Little Art Room
Funded May 29, 2015Reading time is so much easier now in my room and the kids love to sit on the carpet squares while they listen to me read stories. The chairs move so much more easily now, the tennis balls really make it so that my smaller ones can scoot them around and they don't mark up my newly waxed floor.
When my students need to see a demonstration, it is so much easier for the students behind me to see the screen. The smaller A/V cart helps a great deal with opening up the space and allowing them to see more clearly.
With my students feeling more comfortable during reading time, they can focus and feel special on their own carpet square. When they can see more of the information I present with my projector on my A/V cart, they can get more out of my lessons.
Thank you all so much for your support!”

Art Classroom in need of Technology
Funded Sep 21, 2014My students have been so impressed and excited to learn that my project received funding. We couldn't believe how quickly it all happened and are so amazed at the generosity of all of you! We have been using the document camera the most and they love it! It works so well, I have been using it in almost every class.
The wonderful amount of support that I have received has been, not only rewarding, but inspiring to both myself and my students. Now that we have seen how giving people can be, it makes us want to give back and pay it forward. Thank you so much for that, sometimes we can forget how beautiful the world and the people in it truly can be.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Curry
