  • The Best Year Yet!

    Funded Aug 15, 2024

Thank you very much for your generous donations. I have been able to use the resources to encourage and help my students in their learning. The resources provide enrichment, encouragement, and most of all, it is a reminder of how much we are appreciated. The markers, the magnetic hooks, and the other resources are important as we do a lot of writing on our board and we use all other supplies to help embellish our classroom. In addition, the tennis ball covers for the chair provide comfort and easier ways for students to get in and out of their seats.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Curbelo

  • Ink and Storage

    Funded Sep 18, 2023

Thank you very much for your support. Students have been able to complete their assignments with ease through the use of printing resources for their use. I appreciate your generosity. In addition, students have been able to publish their essays and are able to use as a guide for future writing assignments. We live in a technological era and we continue to support technology through the use of researching and writing. Students are excited when they are able to show their work and show proof of their efforts.”

  • A Love for Reading

    Funded May 10, 2023

Your generous donations have given my students a new opportunity for them to learn and hopefully love literacy. Literature in my classroom is an important aspect of expression. We enjoy literature circles, book discussions, and most of all comparing the details of a good book to a film.

The current book we are reading "Holes" by Louis Sachar is a young adult novel that my fifth grade students can relate to as they are in the stage of discovery. For instance, one line mentioned in the story by the main character's father states "I learn from failure." This line from the text is so relatable to students as they go through challenges and unexpected events in their daily life that we can all connect to it and elaborate as such.

All in all, we are building and bonding through a wonderful book. I cannot thank you enough.”

  • "Colorful School Year"

    Funded Nov 30, 2022

Thank you very much for donating to my classroom. Your donation impacts the way students learn, provides materials that they do not have available, and promotes confidence in their learning. The most exciting to my students were the crayons and markers. In our class, we use a lot of visual aids to connect our reading to real life situations. Therefore, the resources have been effective in the way they learn and achieve their goals. The reams of paper provide students with their assessments, anchor charts, and information needed for the students to retain and apply. Thank you again for helping us succeed as we want our students to feel confidence in their learning.”

  • Printing Basics

    Funded Sep 17, 2021

Thank you for your donation to my classroom. As I prepare my lessons, I always think of what is needed in terms of materials. The use of paper is a staple in my classroom. Students depend on reading materials printed in order to show their skills such as underlining main idea, highlighting important details from the text, and/or marginal annotating. The use of this material is essential to their reading and writing. Although, we are in the era of using technology and submitting digitally our students depend on practicing the skills on paper to become problem solvers and critical thinkers. Thank you for enriching their lives with materials needed for their learning.”

  • Novels Are Fun

    Funded Sep 8, 2021

The novels have been a huge impact in my classroom. My students have enjoyed reading literature in their literature circles. Students use these novels to guide our classroom discussions and instruction. Reading in our classroom is fundamental and provides student insight to reading that many of our students do not get to experience in their home-life. "The One and Only Ivan" novel has captured the heart of my students. It has also given them a new perspective from the movie and the actual reading. I enjoy watching them read and expand their knowledge. Thank you for making this possible.”

  • Let's Read, Read, Read

    Funded Dec 7, 2019

The novels have been a great addition to our classroom. Students were given the opportunity to learn more through Literature, thanks to your wonderful donation. In my classroom, reading can be done through informational reading and literature. My students do not often have the opportunity to read novels due to the lack of resources, media/library use, and lack of reading sources at home. Therefore, incorporating the novels in class gives all my students from diverse backgrounds a whole other meaning to comprehend literature in a setting where we all learn through various means of reading. Thank you again for taking the time and interest in funding my project.”

  • Inside Fitness During Rainy Days

    Funded Mar 5, 2019

The students are stunned and amazed with their new resources. The students are enjoying their new vibrant seats to read, chat, and talk among themselves. They especially enjoyed the fact that no matter where I am teaching in the class, I can use my clicker to teach my lesson.

In addition, the looks on their faces when they noticed the new objects in the room showed how happy and eager they were to begin to use them. My students felt so appreciated and bragged to the incoming fifth graders on how lucky they will be when they have me as their teacher next year to use all the resources. As summer approaches, I will begin to brainstorm new projects and ideas that my incoming class will like to work on or share with others.

Thank you again for your continuous support.”

  • Seating On Flex

    Funded Jan 23, 2019

Thank you very much for my resources. The students are enjoying reading their flexible chairs. Once they saw the seating, they thought it was the most colorful chairs and it brought so much happiness. Our reading center is now the one center that students want to engage in the most. I also believe it brings encouragement to their reading style and also gives students a chance to sit in a non-traditional way.

In addition, I also plan to use these chairs in the writing center as well to discuss their writing in a comfortable and "home-like" setting. I believe students can thrive in a setting in which they all can feel welcomed and comfortable. Once again, thank you for all your efforts.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Curbelo

  • Writing Our Way Into Fifth

    Funded Oct 24, 2018

Thank you for contributing to my classroom resources. My students have been using the materials to their full potential. I have been able to obtain copies for them to use as part of their essay writings, which include: the sources, prompts, planning and writing sheet to write into as a practice test. By providing my students with the adequate copies, they do not need to write it all into their notebooks. In addition, the laminating sheets have also been a huge impact in our classroom by preserving some of their work and used as practice sheets for other students to and underline over their work as a sample source. These resources have facilitated our learning as well as our ability to learn in a more organized matter.”
