  • Books! Books! 4th Graders Need Good Books!

    Funded Nov 20, 2016

My class of fourth graders is absolutely THRILLED to have new, exciting books to read at their level! Each student in my class has been assigned a book from the collection you so generously donated to our class. They read their books and now they are completing their projects in class.

Each student took notes using their book and collected all of the important information about it. They determined the theme, setting/s, characters and their qualities, and creatively presented their information to the class. They made cereal box presentations of their book! Now, all of the other kids at school and their families can enjoy learning about "Poppin' Penguins" also known as "Mr. Popper's Penguins." The amount of FUN that has happened while learning about important story traits is tremendous. I can honestly say this is all thanks to you and your generosity.

The world needs more people like you that want to help contribute to LEARNING and education! Helping to put more creativity and fun in the classroom really makes a difference and I was able to do that because of you. You are our class superheroes! We can't thank you enough. Thank you, thank you, thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Miranda

  • Mobile Mad Scientists

    Funded Apr 30, 2014

Thank you so much for your generous donations. My class absolutely loves the science cart. They have access to all of our science materials on a daily basis because of you! They love science. They have been doing research projects about the human body and ocean animals and have delved much deeper than I expected. Next week we are going to replicate respiration using water bottles and balloons.

I would have liked to have uploaded pictures of the growing germs that were growing in lids on our cart a couple of months ago but I forgot with all the excitement and learning going on. Don't worry, we disposed of the toxic germs appropriately and managed to stay healthy. My class is truly appreciative of your generosity and can't wait to do more experiments in the classroom!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Miranda

  • MATH and SCIENCE Rugs Please!

    Funded Jan 1, 2014

My students were beyond thrilled to receive the rugs for our classroom! They wanted to roll around on the floor after I put them on the floor for their use. The first thing they noticed were the beautiful colors and designs. The children were glowing when they saw them. They are so proud to have new rugs. They took extra special care of them and made sure that visitors to our classroom knew that you helped us to get our NEW beautiful rugs!

We all truly appreciate your generosity. These rugs helped to brighten and liven up our classroom routines. Children are comfortable and excited to work in our whole group learning area and our reading center more than ever. The letters, numbers and solar system were the perfect choice for our class. Thanks again!”

    With gratitude,

  • Teaching Diversity, Cooperation and Love in First Grade!

    Funded Sep 28, 2012

Thank you so much for your generous donations! The class has enjoyed reading the books about children around the world. They are learning about different cultures and traditions and enjoying every minute!

We have read so many books about diversity and love. The children are beginning to research different cultures and communities and writing about them. My class has really evolved as a community. Children are making new friends and expanding their friendships in beautiful ways.

Your donations have impacted my class in such a positive way. The book boxes and books are such a great addition to our growing class of first graders. In the pictures you will see a community of cut-out children holding hands. That is how my class wanted to represent themselves as a community, a team of learners. Thank you for helping expand the minds of young children!”

  • Art is Important!

    Funded Dec 28, 2010

The art supplies that you provided for my class allowed me to do some very fun activities in the classroom! The easel and paint supplies allowed my children to have art time during choice time. We have also done many art projects that are tied to literacy. The children are engaged in the art activities and that makes learning so much better!

The easel is the place that the children really enjoy expressing themselves. They like to use the stamps and the brushes and they create the most beautiful art masterpieces during free art time. Every child in my class enjoys creating art using the art easel and supplies.

The pictures that I posted on my page show an art project with painted trees. I taught all about plant life cycles and I also taught about the color wheel and mixing colors. We read, Little Blue and Little Yellow, by Leo Lionni. The children loved how little blue and little yellow came together to make green, and that is how they made their green trees!

My class truly appreciates your generous donations and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts! We don't know what we would do without the wonderful supplies you so graciously helped to provide!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Miranda

  • Let's Get Comfortable And Read A Book!

    Funded Dec 10, 2010

The books that you donated to my classroom have helped me to create engaging, exciting lessons for my students. The children love reading the books as well as utilizing the bins that you so generously provided for our class. There is not a day that goes by that we do not use the books and storage containers that you donated.

The children read the books for independent reading time and partner reading time multiple times a day. I have used them to teach lessons about art, friendship, nature, animals, and many other important topics. The children love the beautiful artwork in the books and are always find new things within the illustrations and text.

Without your help, my class would not have these wonderful supplies that they cherish so much. Thank you so very much for helping to provide supplies during a time when budget cuts to education are really beginning to affect classrooms and students. We truly appreciate it!”
