  • Students Educating Seniors About Digital Safety

    Funded Oct 25, 2024

Thank you very much for your generosity. Your generosity has not only benefitted my students academically, but also socially and emotionally by having them transfer their learning to support the needs of others. They also learned about goal setting and project planning.

The students enjoyed learning translation tools and sharing their work with residents of senior housing. The residents were all smiles as they learned about digital citizenship from the students.

The students left feeling good about themselves and how they helped keep a vulnerable population safe online.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Crabbe

  • Multilingual Science Themed Texts

    Funded Dec 3, 2024

These books have been great in supporting my migrant students and all the other students. The immigrant and migrant students were able to fully engage in the project due to the vivid pictures and the translated sections of text.

It was awesome to see each of the students engage and some of the migrant students take on leadership roles. The smiles on their faces was so encouraging to me. Their joy for learning or possibly feeling fully engaged was evident and so exciting to see as a teacher.

This project would not have been possible. without your support.”

  • Cross-Curricular Learning With Cricut

    Funded May 21, 2023

Wow! The students love to Cricut! It was so hard to get them to clean up and leave to go home. They learned all about digital design and content creation in addition to all kinds of measurement skills.

They were problem solving using their understanding and pushing their understanding to new levels. They were measuring and cutting vinyl and using digital scales in Cricut Design space to align their designs to match their materials.

They used their understanding of measurement and spacial awareness to create shirts, tote bags and more!”

  • STREAM-ing for the Community

    Funded Oct 3, 2023

These books were so helpful in learning about STREAM and its importance in society. The students loved learning and researching with real books in hand. They were placing post-its and making notes of importance that were then shared with students in the other classes.

These books allowed uninterrupted learning that often comes with using digital books. Students were able to get right to learning without needing support logging in and all the other complications that can sometimes accompany digital research.

Thank you once again for your generous support.”

  • Coding the Costs

    Funded Sep 8, 2023

This is such a cool project. Not only do the students love coding the mice, but thinking about how to save the most money. They have to think critically with their peers about the paths they will take and the potential outcomes of each.

The kids love combining coding with the use of money. I arrange the paths and bridges. They have to code different ways to get to specific places like a family members house or a museum.

One member of the group codes, while another member manages the money. It is an awesome cross-curricular learning experience.”

  • Teaching Digital Safety to Migrant and Immigrant Seniors

    Funded Oct 17, 2024

Your donation helped bring a unit idea to life. The students are learning about digital citizenship. Our goal is always for students to truly understand new information and transfer it to real life. In the study of this unit, it always comes up that older people and people who are unfamiliar with the language are at greater risk of being taken advantage of online either because they don't fully understand technology or the risks involved.

Our students who speak English as their first language and those who are learning English as a second language are working together to create game boards to teach an older generation, many of who speak a language other than English, as their main language about digital citizenship and internet safety.

Their game boards are small and the English and translated texts are miniscule. The poster maker and supplies you donated to will allow the students to print their game boards on enlarged paper so their audience will be able to read and learn about digital safety without a magnifying glass.

Thank you again for your generosity.”

  • Financial Fun With Friends

    Funded Aug 10, 2021

Thank you so much for your generosity and taking the time out to care about the students in my classroom. What a hit the materials were. The students love getting to use the manipulative money in different station rotation centers. They explored counting on and back by ones, fives, tens, and even a few by 25s.

The headphones also supported students in getting the extra support they needed through related videos. Students were able to view needed multi-media for support without being distracted by others or distracting others.”

  • Social Emotional Learning in Practice

    Funded Feb 13, 2021

Thank you so much for your generosity and support of my students. They so enjoyed the resources you so helped provide for our classroom. The prompts gave students a great way of learning how to communicate with each other and strategies of how to manage through difficulties. The students also loved earning stickers for positive responses and encouraging others in challenging moments.

These resources also gave students an opportunity to interact with other students in the class that do not sit close to them during instructional time.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Crabbe

My computer science classroom welcomes students from kindergarten through fifth grade. Some students are scheduled weekly to engage in computer science instruction, while others visit for special computer science projects and mini-units throughout the year. In our computer science classroom, students collaborate with other students and regularly engage in problem solving and critical thinking, as well as exploring content and concepts within various content areas such as science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. We engage in computer science tasks that include technology and those that do not involve technology. Whether the task involves technology or not, the students are always applying twenty-first century skills, like decomposing tasks, drafting plans, innovating solutions, debugging errors, presenting information and ideas to others, and connecting learning to the world around them.
