By donating to our classroom, you would help stimulate our students' minds. You could give them the chance to change their lives, their outlook on education, and a lifetime of success.
We can give our children a safer, more organized and dynamic housekeeping center. Currently, our classroom is very small for the number of students we serve. In order to maximize our space, we need an all in one kitchen that is just the right size for play, but also has great storage potential. Learning to play with others is PARAMOUNT in the early childhood classroom. Housekeeping helps to teach children how to cooperate with one another, pick up their toys, and use their imaginations for creative play. Students in poverty often have a difficult time using their imaginations, this kitchen, dress up rack, and baby center would not only help students to master our social and emotional standards, but also enhance their language and literacy standards.
My students do not get a lot of vocabulary exposure at home, which makes it tough to communicate with others. Having an organized dress up and doll area would help to tremendously expand the students' language, and directionality (math) skills - believe or not! In addition to that, it would make it easier to rotate dress up items to keep students more engaged which in turn lends itself to even more language and vocabulary skills.
Furthermore, a baby doll center teaches hygiene and compassion to young minds. It even teaches the difference between living and nonliving things - a science standard!
Donate now and give my 3 year old students the skills they need to become successful adults in the years to come.
