A Little Spot of Life
Funded Sep 3, 2021We use the books on a daily basis. The stories have given my students a strong vocabulary to describe how they are feeling and what others might be feeling. They have learned many strategies to get back to being calm and content. They have learned many breathing techniques.
My students can happily explain to others what to do in a situation. For example, they see that a friend is angry. They can give that student space, explain how to breathe, and the importance of how to calm themselves down. They also realize that it is perfectly fine to have all these emotions and feelings. They know that they can have the feelings, but know that they can do their best learning when they are calmed down.
These stories and strategies have made a huge impact on my students this year. Our mornings begin with how we feel and a goal to have a great day. I share the stories with other teachers and they see the importance of identifying each emotion with students. Teaching in a pandemic has created a huge need for students to know about all of this. They know that school is a safe space and we will help them in every way we can. Thank you for donating so we can have this valuable resource! We are incredibly thankful to have such wonderful, useful books!”

Funded Aug 10, 2021My students have been so excited to use the hands-on materials! They love the nuts and bolts color and counting centers. They ask to use them daily! They also love using the do-a-dot markers to find numbers, letters and sight words. The do-a-dot markers continue to make learning more fun!
We have our hopscotch rug near the door. It gives them a quick body movement if they need it, and has helped my students count and recognize numbers to 10 easily. My students enjoy using the food activities, too! They love using the ice cream cones to count and sequencing burgers like they own their own restaurant.
These centers are amazing for students as they learn to use different materials. The hands-on centers are perfect for them to develop their fine motor skills each day. Thank you for donating such wonderful resources to our young learners!”

Walking in Line Rope
Funded Dec 23, 2020Thank you so much for helping us have a rope for students to hold onto! Socially distancing truly is a challenge! My students aren't always aware of how close they are to others, and the ropes have helped us with walking in line. They hold onto the rope and can easily tell where they should be. Because we have the same group every day, the smaller rope was given to another class to help them socially distance when walking, too. They are ALL so grateful to be safe in class! We cannot thank you enough for supporting us.”

Distant Centers
Funded Aug 26, 2020Having some binder centers for my students has been a game changer! They keep their binders in a bin in their assigned areas for learning. The binders have many page protectors on the inside, where we have different pages for students to work on. These pages include number tracing and writing, adding, subtracting, number bonds, alphabet tracing, sight words, etc.... We even have the binders differentiated so each child has something a little different to meet their needs! My students were so excited to have something to work on during the day when they finished activities earlier than others. It is great practice for them. Thank you so much for providing these so each student has something to work on each day.”

Lap Desks for Learning
Funded Dec 23, 2020Thank you so much! The layout of my classroom has changed so much this year. We were virtual for so long and finally switched to in-person learning! I have 8 little lap desks for my students that sit on the floor. These lap desks have many materials on the inside that students use; it keeps them much more organized! The lap desks also have folding legs so students can lie on their bellies to work, or sit up tall and place their legs under it. I even have students that choose to sit on a chair and use these desks on their laps for a hard surface!
When students first arrived in-person, they were so excited! They have their own areas for learning, and a desk to call their own. These lap desks have made it much easier to have flexible seating as well as keeping students safe! Thank you for your generosity!”

Awesome Osmos
Funded Dec 10, 2019I am so thankful for your support in the classroom! My students were so excited to have the Osmos in our classroom, just like the ones in our Digital Learning Lab! They were having a blast, and continuously asked to work on the iPads to learn! It is so much fun for students to WANT to learn through play, technology, and hands-on tools. The directions and functions of the kits are simple enough for the youngest learners to use independently. They were able to problem-solve and persevere through the difficulties on their own.
Although our year was cut short, they truly enjoyed the Osmo kits as much as they could. Once students are allowed to share and use the kits safely, I will have a new group just as excited to learn!”

Funded Aug 11, 2020My students and their families are all so grateful for having the necessary supplies for distance learning! It is wonderful to make our lessons more interactive so they can practice writing their numbers, letters and drawing pictures! They work so hard during our lessons, even though it is online.
Handing out the supplies to my students was so fun and exciting! They were so happy to get so many fun things from school! Thanks to you, my students have the materials they need to make online learning successful. I can't wait to see how much they can learn and grow through this experience.”

Funded Oct 1, 2019We truly appreciate our new easel! It has been a wonderful addition to our classroom. It is used daily for many subject areas. My students love seeing a new message from the "Kindness Fairy" each morning. She promotes being kind to one another, perseverance, and reading! Students look for the sight words they know, and sound out some simple words.
Another way we use the easel is by using our fun felt pieces on the opposite side. My students use the felt pieces to retell stories, make up stories, and solving some math problems together. It is a great way for students to share and work together. Thank you, once again, for supporting our classroom needs!”

I "Donut" Want to Fall
Funded Jul 21, 2019Thank you so much for our Donut seats! My kindergarten students love all the different types of seats in our classroom, and the donut seats are among the favorites! They are comfortable, bright, and fun to sit on. It helps some of my "wiggly" students focus more. Although the donut seats are shorter than some of the other seats we have, my students are the perfect size to sit on them! They do exceptionally well with taking care of their classroom seats. The variety of seating in my classroom has provided students with choice. Students love getting the choice to sit where they feel they can learn their best for most of the day. My students do an excellent job at this. We appreciate all your support in getting some different seating arrangements in our classroom.”

Funded Aug 6, 2019Thank you so much for the Fairy Tales problem solving kits! My students are becoming fantastic problem solvers and can collaborate well with their peers. These kits have been a great addition to our STEM Station and to our science curriculum. The kits have helped my students come more confident in their learning about the design process. They are able to plan, create, improve, and share their designs with their classmates, parents, and other classes. My students learn best through play, and the kits provide students with the opportunities through hands-on activities. These have been a wonderful addition to our classroom! Thank you again!”
