Read to Me!
Funded Dec 8, 2011After our holiday vacation, my students and I were quite surprised at the arrival of our "classroom gift." The cordless headphones were such a hit! Our listening center is now one of the most anticipated centers to be a part of during the week.
Listening to stories without worrying about the children being strangled with the headphone cords has given me and my teacher assistants a definite peace of mind. My students are also able to enjoy listening to the stories and move freely without any restraints.
We thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. Because of your gift, my students will be exposed to additional auditory learning. Most importantly, you have also given them the foundation of their early love of reading. Through these, we are extremely grateful!”

Mrs. C. Tsao

Funded Sep 1, 2011Thanks to you, my project was funded just in time to start the new school year. With the iPod Touch, I was able to welcome my pre-k students with songs that captivated their attention for the first few days of school. I also used the device to capture pictures during their momentous "first day" of school.
This gift of technology has allowed me to create playlists reflecting the various themes of my program. We often use the iPod during our "greeting" and "closing" activities, as well as our Music and Movement time. The ease of accessing music through the iPod has given me more time in teaching concepts and managing precious time for my 4-year-old students.
As I capture pictures and videos of my student activities throughout the year, I intend on sharing them in a slideshow/movie to the parents at the culmination of our school year in June.
From the bottom of our hearts, we are thankful for your gift of technology!”

Funded Feb 8, 2011My students and I are truly grateful for your generous donation in funding our school bus. You have made our fieldtrip to the Discovery Science Center possible, successful, and memorable. Even before the trip, my students have been counting down the days with anticipation. Finally, when the day arrived, the smiles on their faces were as wide as a mile!
The museum's hands-on exhibits gave my students the opportunity to learn through experimentation and interaction. Science, math, as well as technology concepts were introduced as they learned about rocks, planets, gravity, and fossils. My students were able to navigate through most of the museum's exhibits because of their impressive and well-organized fieldtrip program. The parents who came as our volunteers were equally impressed!
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you! This was an experience that we will always remember for years to come.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. C. Tsao
Learning On the Magic Carpet
Funded Jan 21, 2011Because of generous donors like you, my students are currently able to enjoy our brand-new "magic carpet." We use it for calendar activities, small-group activities, story-time, and also for whole-group lessons. They are able to listen closely and be actively engaged when I do my mini-lessons on the rug. Most importantly, U.S. geography has become a daily activity as they sit on the colorful states of America!
On the "magic carpet," my students are better in listening and creative thinking; both necessary for learning. They are able to listen and learn because no longer they have to squeeze closely together to fit on a smaller rug. No longer they have to sit on a cold floor when the smaller rug is put away on rainy days! When my students take a trip on our new "magic carpet," no one, is left behind. We all fly in comfort! Thank you for your generosity, especially in times like this economic crisis our district is facing. My students would have to wait for months, perhaps longer, to enjoy the comfort of a brand new classroom rug.”

Funded Aug 30, 2010It is with sincere gratitude that I write this thank-you letter to your generous organization. It took a few weeks for the document reader to be set-up in my classroom because I needed a laptop and a projector for the reader to fully function. Now that I have acquired those two, I have been using the document reader for two weeks and it has done wonders!
My students are able retain lessons using all of the learning modalities. The document camera captures the attention of my visual learners when lessons are presented using the device. My auditory learners benefit just the same as they are able to watch and hear math lessons while I play the Math Program DVD's in the computer. My kinesthetic learners enjoy using the document camera to demonstrate mini-lessons in front of the class or just by simply showing their work in front of the class.
Both my students and I have greatly benefited with your gift. Learning, for them, has definitely become more interesting and teaching, for me, has become rewarding as well.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to succeed in education!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. C. Tsao
