Read to Me Please!
Funded Jan 22, 2024Our students have been using the books in small groups as we tie them into the classroom themes. As teachers, we use literature to engage the students in class discussions about certain topics before and during their learning. We use literature to further expand their knowledge and culminate the themes.
They also like to review the alphabet and numbers using the books. They enjoy browsing through the them and look forward to teachers reading during story time. Your donations have given them the opportunity to look forward to stories and learning through literature. We appreciate your generosity!”

Funded Aug 12, 2020With your generosity, I was able to begin remote teaching in a very entertaining fashion. My students, love the magnetic letters that I use. The magnetic white board is a very helpful tool, as well. My students enjoy the storytelling puppet characters, which bring light to their faces when I begin story time.
Music and movement, as well as calendar songs, are easy to play using the CD player. It might be a little old school, but CD's are still very entertaining for the children.
Thanks and virtual hugs to you all, for the generous gifts you have given me and my students, as I teach and they learn from our homes.”

Funded Feb 21, 2020Luckily, we were granted our project before the school shutdown. We are grateful for your generosity! We were able to use the vacuum and carpet sweeper everyday from the moment we got them delivered to our classroom. My students were finally able to enjoy sitting on the carpet during small groups or rugtime.
Morning breakfast does not seem like such a chore when you have a handy floor sweeper! My students enjoyed using it as well, when they spill some muffin crumbs or cereal. It definitely teaches them how to clean up after themselves. As for the teachers, we can finally vacuum the classroom carpets, everyday, without relying on custodial staff to do it on Fridays.
Again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts!”

Sit Back and Relax, All You Need is a Book
Funded Sep 28, 2019Thank you for your generosity! We are enjoying our library because of your donations towards our comfy seats and pillows. We use the library as we go to our small groups and the children often cannot wait to use the comfy seats and stools.
In addition to the comfy seats, the soft tree stools add an inviting atmosphere to our cozy library. With added quiet music, the children can enjoy their library time with books in their hands.
Thank you again for your continued support in our classroom needs.”

Funded Jul 26, 2019From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for donating towards sensory materials and other learning tools to help develop my students' fine-motor skills. My students have been using the materials during small group activities with my teacher assistant and high school helpers. Little do my students know, they are actually learning and developing their fine motor skills while playing with the materials!
When they first saw the materials, they were excited to use them. Everyday, they look forward to their small groups and I am happy to see them enjoy being at school. Again, thank you!”

Funded Nov 27, 2018On behalf of my students, we all want to extend our sincere gratitude towards your generous donation! When my students first saw the sports materials, they got so excited. We have used them outside during our outdoor activities. Some materials such as the ring toss has been used indoors. This worked well especially on those days where we had to be indoors due to the rain.
The various sports materials have been used as outdoor centers. This makes it more organized and the kids are able to enjoy the centers and look forward to the next set of activities. Overall, we are extremely lucky to have you as our donors.”

Show Me the World!
Funded Feb 5, 2018My students and I are truly thankful for your generosity in funding our projector and document camera. I have used the projector on several occasions, showing my students videos of concepts we have been learning in class. The look of interest and curiosity on their faces light up all the time! It is truly captivating and it takes their learning on another level, making concepts clearer.
Using the document camera and projector makes it possible for me to bring in concepts in a visual manner to my students. My lessons become more engaging and concrete. Again, thank you for your donation!”

Funded Oct 20, 2017Our library has looked more vibrant that ever because of our new board books, hand-puppets, and puppet theater! My students enjoy looking through the pages of the new books as well as reading them to their peers. I also noticed that they "pretend-read" to their friends just like how I do read-alouds in the classroom.
My students have expressed their creative and imaginative side as well when I see them read to the puppets or use them in the puppet theater to re-enact stories that we have read in the classroom. Thank you, once again, for your generosity and gift of reading.”

Funded Nov 8, 2016Thank you for your generous donation. My students enjoy the eReaders, as they provide a different avenue for enjoying stories. They are surprised at how many books can fit in to a tiny device! At first, they thought that they were iPads, but when I explained that these devices will not be used for games, rather just for reading.
My students were ambivalent in using the eReaders because they are not independent readers yet, so my teacher's assistant and I use the eReaders read during read-aloud. Small groups give our read-aloud sessions the feeling of comfort and informality that the students enjoy. Thank you for the gift!”

Students, Please Be Seated!
Funded Aug 6, 2016Ms. Reilly,
Our classroom looks very modern with the new "flexible seating" you have donated! When my students saw the various seating and resting arrangements available for them in class, they were very surprised and excited.
My students are enjoying their wobble chairs at the kitchen area and at the computer center. The mats are used at the library for reading and browsing books. When resting, my students use the individual mats to rest their heads on. They have been very creative in using the various seating options into their own comfortable spaces. They have also been willing to take turns and share the seats with each other.
We would like to thank you for your continued support and generosity! Your donation has definitely increased my students' motivation and focus in class.”
