  • Empowering Futures: Financial Literacy through STEM and AVID

    Funded Oct 3, 2024

We are incredibly grateful for your generous support, which has provided our students with essential graphing materials, magnetic whiteboard graphing paper, markers, and calculators. We are currently using these resources in a project that focuses on data representation and analysis.

As we move forward, students will be using these materials to conduct a survey on their favorite science lab this year, which they will then graph and analyze in small groups. This hands-on experience not only enhances their understanding of data visualization but also encourages collaboration and critical thinking. We can't wait to see the creative ways they will represent their findings! Thank you for making this enriching project possible for our students.”

  • Wear It Proud: GSA T-Shirts for Allyship and Mental Wellness

    Funded Oct 3, 2024

We are incredibly grateful for your support, which has allowed us to introduce new resources for our "Tornado Allies" LGBTQ and allies support club. We received a Cricut Joy, iron-on vinyl, and shirts to create supportive designs. Our students have been using these materials to design custom shirts that promote inclusivity and awareness for LGBTQ issues. When the students saw the materials for the first time; their eyes lit up with excitement as they envisioned the creative possibilities ahead.

As we move forward, students are eager to start their shirt-making project, where they'll design messages of support and solidarity for their peers. This hands-on experience not only encourages creativity but also fosters a strong sense of community and pride within the club. We can't wait to showcase their designs at upcoming events, further spreading awareness and support for LGBTQ rights. Thank you for making this all possible!”

  • Empowering LGBTQ+ Youth: Community Connections Project

    Funded Oct 3, 2024

We are incredibly grateful for your generous support, which has allowed us to introduce new games and journals for our after school club, dedicated to LGBTQ students and their allies. The games and journals we've added foster inclusivity, encourage self-expression, and promote critical thinking. They serve as important tools for our club, empowering students to explore their identities and understand diverse perspectives in a supportive environment.

In our club, the use of games and journals creates an interactive and engaging atmosphere. Students actively participate in discussions, share their experiences, and collaborate on activities that resonate with their lives. We've noticed particular students who are especially enjoying these new resources, finding comfort and validation in activities that reflect their identities. These materials have sparked meaningful conversations and helped establish a safe space where everyone feels valued and accepted. Thank you for your support in making this possible, as it has truly made a difference in our students' lives.”

  • Empowering Young Writers: Supplies for Literacy and Expression

    Funded Nov 13, 2024

We are incredibly grateful for your support, and we would like to share how your contributions towards printer paper and cartridges have positively impacted our students' learning experiences. In today's digital age, technology plays an integral role in the classroom. With the resources you have provided, we have been able to incorporate more interactive and engaging materials into our lessons, especially in Project-Based Learning (PBL) science projects. The ability to print high-quality documents, worksheets, and visual aids allows us to cater to various learning styles, making concepts more accessible and easier to understand. This technology facilitates collaborative learning, as students can work together on printed materials, enhancing their teamwork and communication skills.

The most exciting aspect of the new technology for our students is the opportunity to create and print their own projects. They love the autonomy it gives them to express their creativity and present their ideas in a tangible format, especially when working on PBL science projects that require research and presentation. We've noticed that certain students, particularly those who may struggle with traditional learning methods, have especially warmed to this new technology. For instance, students who are visual learners find great joy in seeing their work come to life on paper. Your generous contributions have made a huge difference in our students' educational journeys, fostering an environment where they can thrive and develop essential skills for the future. Thank you!”

  • We're HUNGRY!

    Funded Feb 10, 2022

Thank you for supporting our classroom with yummy snacks and delicious take home meals. With your donations, we were able to keep our minds off of hunger and on our studies in Environmental science. We are so grateful for all of the treats.

When the students first saw all of the foods, they were over the moon excited! I stocked my cabinet for anyone who needed something to eat. The students take meals home when there are school breaks so they don't feel hungry at home.

In our classroom the students earn tickets for positive, respectful behavior and participation during lessons. On Fridays, we pull a ticket and choose a winner! The candy bars from this project are wonderful rewards for their EXCELLENT behavior.

    Thanks again!”
