  • Differentiate and Print!

    I cannot fully express my gratitude enough for your generosity. With your donations, my classes have been able to have access to more and more resources than I had before.

    It has become easier for me to create print outs of resources that I didn't have access to previously. With the new ink, reams of paper, and TeachersPayTeacher gift cards the class was able to have access to more differentiated resources to make their learning more individualized.

    The biggest and most impactful resource your donations made possible was the opportunity to incorporate so many products from TeachersPayTeachers, such as math games which we use for Math Game Friday. My students cannot wait for Friday afternoon to come so they can practice what they have learned during the week in math in a fun and engaging way. Some students that previously weren't motivated to participate in math were stoked to play with their small groups, and in turn this help enhance the students understanding of mathematical concepts.”

  • Leveling Up Our Reading!

    My students are so very grateful for your donations. They were so excited to see our classroom library filled with books they love! Every child is thrilled to choose their new reading books every week for their book baggy. These book baggies are used to allow students to have varied reading books to read at home and in school during silent reading time.

    Since we received many books from varying levels we were able to fill up many of the leveled baskets, so students have access to books at their Just Right reading level . In addition to that, we now have a basket of books that students choose from to share with their family. These books are beautifully illustrated and very engaging, but are books that students wouldn't be able to read on their own. Many of these books are full of enriching stories that help students grow their background knowledge and also make connections to their own lives.

    The excitement of having access to all these new books from authors they love and with characters they love has built up my students love for reading. They are reading more and not only reading independently, but reading with their families. This new found interest in reading has already shown a growth in my students success in reading higher level books.

    One of the biggest impacts this project has brought to the classroom is that students are not only engaging with the texts, but also engaging with their peers about their texts. Students are sharing their thoughts about what they've read and recommending books to classmates. As soon as one book is returned to the basket, a classmate swoops it up for themselves.

  • Open Up the World with Books

    My students are so very thankful for your generosity! Every child has grown in reading since receiving this collection of books.

    When choosing books I selected books that I know my students would devour. Thanks to you, the Mo Willems' Elephant and Piggies have been shared over and over. These are books I chose for entertainment, also because they students do well with reading them. They are not too difficult for my lower level readers & not too easy for my higher level readers. They helped my students to develop their fluency in reading. They have helped them to develop intonation when reading as well.

    The other books that were gathered in this collection were equally welcomed by my students. We read as a class read aloud the Wayside School books & The Princess in Black books. This helped to develop our community of readers.

    For independent reading students flew through The Magic Treetops books, The Pete the Cat books, and the Animal Antic books. It was so great to be able to add newer texts to the classroom library. All of my readers enjoyed discovering the worlds within the books we received.”

  • Educating the Mind and the Heart

    We are so grateful for your generosity! With the constant changing between in-person and remote learning this year the resources you helped our classroom to get has allowed for students to be supported in their socio-emotional growth.

    Students were first introduced to the Susan Verde books through remote learning at the beginning of the year, this really helped to set the stage for the importance of social emotional learning this year. Once students were able to attend in-person school they created their own paper version of themselves, that you can see in one of the thank you photos. They had such a great time creating themselves in artistic form. It was important to me that even though the students wouldn't be in everyday that they knew that this was their classroom, so I made sure that I was able to hang up their creations which were surrounded by motivation posters that I was able to purchase on Teachers Pay Teachers with the use of the gift card. Another resource we got from TPT was the the routine of a class mantra, we are working on our growth mindset by telling ourselves that, "I am bold, I am brave, I can succeed, I believe in myself!" Students are growing so much to understand that it's okay to make mistakes and you just have to keep trying! Students are working daily on their Growth Mindset with the use of the special Growth mindset journals that were included in the project.

  • All You Need is Books

    My classroom is now flooded with books! The whole class was in awe of the many, many deliveries we were receiving in the last month. They were ecstatic when they found out that the books were for them!

    The students are enthralled by the amount of beautiful, shiny covers that are staring at them on the top of the bookshelf. They have been actively sharing the new texts. I have never seen them read books so quickly! As soon as one book gets returned, it gets swiped back off the shelf.

    I am so grateful, as our the students, for your donations. You have made it possible for my students to be exposed to great texts that we didn't have available before. I truly believe this boost in motivation to read these amazing books will help with their overall love of reading- especially when they finally get the book they've been eying their friend reading!   • Taking a Look at Books with a "NOOK"

    The students are so excited to have the Nooks in our classroom! They are always asking if it can be there turn to use one of the Nooks. There presence in the classroom is really helping the students to be motivated to read more.

    I have been able to download books for students at all different reading levels, so the students now have access to more books than what is available in the classroom library. Every time that it's there turn to read on the Nook they are curious to see if I have added new books.

    The Nooks are a becoming a great tool for all of the students for so many reasons. The books that I have downloaded have some unique features that "regular" books don't have- they have interactive elements that help the students to work on reading strategies such as retelling, making inferences, and developing schema.

  • We Can Do It Our Way!

    I want to thank you so much for your donation. My student's have already greatly benefited from using the dry erase boards, dry erase markers, privacy partitions and the book buddy bags. They were so grateful for your generosity.

    They use their book buddy bags everyday to carry their library and classroom books, and the best part about them is that the bags are holding up. The storage bags we used to use would break within 1-2 weeks of use, but the students all have been using their own buddy bags for several months already. They have personalized them so they are easily identifiable too!

    The students love to use the privacy partitions! They can now feel like they have their own space, and don't have to worry about the folders they used to use falling down.The partitions arrived just in time for the state exams! They definitely helped the students keep their focus.

    WE LOVE the dry erase boards and markers. The students used to have to share boards with several other kids, but know they all have their own and can use them with their own markers too. We used these a lot when preparing for our state exams, too.

  • Bringing Melody into Writing

    Cd'sMy students and I greatly appreciate your generous donation. We have received the Ipod Nano, the Ipod Docking Station, and the music cds. These have become a great asset to our writing time. Students are working with more focus and are loving the music that is playing in the background.

    Students in my school don't often get a chance to experience various music, and you have given them this opportunity. They are so grateful for your generosity, and can't believe that you went out of your way for them.

  • HELP US LEARN OUR ABC'S

    There are no words that convey how much thanks that my students and I owe you for donating to us the most essential part of our classroom, our class easel. Not only did you allow us to have this most important tool, you also provided us with post-it chart paper that allows us to post up our work immediately.

    Since receiving the easel and post-it chart, we have used both everyday for every content area. We use the dual-sided easel to continue our learning from the meeting area to our desks. The easel holds our shared reading charts, our writing workshop charts, our read aloud books, our math charts, and many more materials that need to be displayed throughout the day.

    Due to the poverty in our area, many of my students don't get a chance to use materials that are of such high quality. We are and will be forever grateful for your generosity. Without you and donors like you, my students would not be able to access materials that other communities are privileged to receive without question. Thank you for helping my students get a step closer to receiving the same quality of education that other schools know.”
