iPods will allow students to hear great literature and build on the skills we are addressing in the classroom. Students love listening to great stories, stories that they can listen to over and over and pick up on new vocabulary, or a new concept. Listening to literature helps build comprehension, builds fluency, word recognition, etc. This will also allow them to record and listen to themselves reading a story, or their peers. I will use these iPods with my first graders in one of my reading stations. We really focus on building words and sentences. This wold be a wonderful tool to have.
