• "Behind the Scenes... Unnoticed Supplies in a Successful Music Program"

• Music is Emotion- Now Let's Show It!

  This project was really special to me. As a choir teacher, I try to remind my students that we're a family and a team. Sometimes we fight, disagree, and get frustrated with one another, but we are always here to lift each other up. I gave each student one of the positive affirmation chips and told them to look around the room and give it to someone who either exemplifies the quote or who may need to hear it today. It was awesome to hear them telling others why they gave him/her that chip. It made students smile that would not normally feel that way. You played a part in making my students feel welcome and loved, and I thank you for that.”

• Bring the Caribbean to Rural WV!

  Oh my goodness, how my students love these drums! As soon as they arrived I unpacked a few and showed the 8th graders the basics. They were amazed! Some of the band kids next door heard the drums and their teacher let them come see what was going on. They also got a chance to try them out. I can't wait to put a steel drum unit together and show the school what my kids can do!

• Listen to the Music!

  Thank you so so much for your generosity. My kids were excited the first day of school when I showed them the "headphone" station to house all our classroom headphones. Each bin will be labeled and contain the headphones for each class period, and each set of headphone pouch will be labeled with the students' name in dry erase marker. This will make keeping track of headphones so much easier for the kids, and I won't have to clean and sanitize nearly as much as in previous years. Your generosity has saved me time and sanity!”

• Snack-ety Snack, My Belly's Talking Back!

  If you feed them, they will come.

  I wish you could have seen their faces when all these huge boxes were in my class. Of course they asked what was in the boxes, and I told them "Just some snacks". Their eyes were as wide as saucers.

  These snacks were an absolute hit! My "regulars" were so excited to have "the good snacks", and they brought new kids to my classroom at the end of the day. I was able to meet students I've never had in class and get to know them, all because they wanted a snack.

• Full-Sized Guitars for My Growing Kids

  Wow, has it been awesome having these new full-size guitars!! I teach a guitar unit to my 8th graders each semester and I finally have enough large guitars to go around. I've used 3/4 size when I had to, but many of these kids tower over me and need something larger. It makes it feel more "real" when it's their size, rather than like a toy.
