Thank you so much for your generous donations! Thanks to you my students will have a brand new rug. I’m so excited for carpet time learning to happen. With this carpet we will also be able to practice our literacy skills as well as hands on learning. Thank you!”

  • Cut Out the Static!

    Funded Oct 23, 2020

Thank you very much! Your generous donation has greatly impacted my classroom and the lives of my students! Many of my students live in small spaces with lots of noise and distraction. With their new headphones they have been able to be engaged and really focus on school time. They no longer have to worry about a younger sibling crying or their dog barking. My students wanted me to tell you that they love their new headphones and that they are sending lots of air hugs your way. This year has not been easy but with your donation you have made our classroom a little brighter!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Chellew

  • Can You Hear Me Now?

    Funded Oct 21, 2020

Thank you so much! This year has had so many challenges. Your generous donation has made it possible for my students to hear and interact during our daily lessons. They also are able to use them during small group time and independent reading. Many live in small spaces and can be easily distracted by sounds at home. With their new headphone there are able to be fully engaged!

The camera provided has also greatly improved the quality of instruction. The video is both clearer and larger. When videoing the whiteboard student can now see the whole board instead of just a small piece. Students also now have a clear view of all materials used in daily lessons. Small changes like these have made all the difference.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Chellew

  • Ready, Set, Read!

    Funded Sep 20, 2020

I can not thank you enough for you generous and thoughtful donations. I believe that the most important skills for any first grader to master are reading fluency and comprehension. Especially for my students who have had to overcome many obstacles in order to grow in their knowledge and education. My school does not have the funds to provide students with on level text. Through the use of these tablets they will have access to all kinds of books and materials. My hope is that the skills they learn in first grade will set a strong and firm foundation. A foundation that they can build upon in high school and that will hold strong through college. I thank you again for making an investment to further the lives of others!”

  • Morning Work Madness

    Funded Jul 6, 2018

Your generous donations have truly made an impact in the lives of my students. The materials received have been used every morning throughout the entire year. With the resources given I created S.T.E.A.M based morning tubs. Each morning after students unpack they get to choose from a variety of hands on tubs. The tubs change monthly and focus on the literacy, math and writing skills we are learning that month.

Along with the tubs there are three sets of morning mission cards. These cards have challenges that the students need to complete. A few of the challenges are to design a secret room, build an underground city and create a new toy. Students are given a variety of materials to complete these tasks such as legos, tinker toys and magnets. These activities keep students engaged and build skills such as problem solving and critical thinking. I am very thankful for each and every person who has generously given. Your gift has made a big difference in the lives of my students. I will continue to use these resources and materials for years to come!”

  • We're Nuts About Learning but We Need Your Help!

    Funded Dec 30, 2016

Thank you so much for your generous donation's! They have truly changed my students lives and have improved the classroom environment. Each day a package with one of the new items was delivered to the classroom. My students would cheer with excitement and anticipation as we would all open the box. My students can now sit on a rug and have their own personal space. This has helped them learn boundaries and remain settled during lesson time keeping them focused. During center time they now have headphones to work on computer programs to improve their reading skills. Using computers no longer disrupts the rest of the class. The seat sacks have helped keep our classroom organized and clean. They have also given the students the opportunity to learn organizational skills and responsibility. We also choose a new book to read everyday from the new book bundle we received. Thank you so much for your generous gifts they were greatly appreciated by not just me but also by my fifteen students!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Chellew

The items on my list are not for a specific project they would be used everyday in my classroom. These items will help our classroom become a safe and secure space for my students to learn. For many of my students school is the only secure and constant thing they have in their lives. A color coded rug will create boundaries and help students feel secure in their own space. Headphones will reduce the noise when students use technology. With the reduction of noise small group time will be more productive. The books in my classroom were bought second hand from yard sales. The books are a mixture of levels that are above many of my students' comprehension skills and reading levels. New books would give my students the opportunity to read independently. Seat sacks will help my students learn personal organization skills. This will give them personal responsibility.
