  • Hope Is Near

    Funded Jul 15, 2021

Thank you for your donations to the HOPE group. The HOPE group is a grief and loss group at Lincoln High School which I have expanded to include all the students who are experiencing a loss due to a death, separation or due to COVID loss of time.

The students spend their time discussing ways they are handling their grief and supporting each other during this difficult time. Through art therapy, the are able to express themselves. Their favorite activities are the "Worry Free Jars" and the "Memory boxes". Next year we will continue to expand the group and with your generous funding get more supplies for the year. Thank you for helping my students!”

  • COVID Destress Supplies

    Funded Nov 23, 2020

Students who are in the building use the supplies during lunch. I host workshops in the cafeteria, socially distancing and using all CDC guidelines. The students were excited and grateful when they first saw the supplies. They did not expect any "destressing" activity and participated along with the staff. Students who were not in the building picked up their supplies when they came in to pick up work for their classes. I was grateful that there were enough supplies for my students.

I would like to order more supplies because the students were so involved and I believe that they benefited from the workshop. Thank you to all the donors, you really make a difference!

You make a difference! Thank you!

  • Let Your Worries Go in a Worry Jar

    Funded Nov 23, 2020

Thank you for the funds to purchase the "Worry Free Jars" . This activity was so helpful and enjoyable for my students and they were excited to participate. Our next activity with the remainder of the jars will be completed once students return to school in April. This was a great to help my students de-stress. They were allowed to paint their "Worry Free" jars and then place their worries in the jar and dispose of! The feedback was amazing and students and staff were excited to participate.

Thanks again for allowing me the opportunity to complete a creative activity with them.”

  • Zooming into Junior Year

    Funded Nov 17, 2020

Thank you to my donors! Zooming into Junior Year has been difficult with the pandemic. We have laptops that don't always work and trying to contact our students is difficult. With the technology given, I am able to meet with my students for group and work with them so they can start researching different colleges and career options. Even through the pandemic, the students have gone above and beyond to join my "Counselor Check in" even if it is just for a moment.

I look forward to the day when we can meet in person and the students are able to use the technology given so that we can explore new resources together. All of my students have benefited from this donation and I thank you again!”

  • Counseling through the Pandemic with a Laptop

    Funded Aug 12, 2020

Thank you so much for the HP laptop. It is used to work one on one with my students when we are in the office and used at home when I am working with them remotely.

I am able to conference with my students and hold my Counselor Check-in during their lunch period where I meet with them and conduct different social emotional activities.

The students were excited to have access to technology when meeting with me and being able to reach me when we are working remotely. At times the technology in the building is unaccessible and when we meet in little groups or one on one it helps for my students to have access to a laptop.

I am very grateful to my donors for their generosity and for helping me gain access to technology required for my students to be successful and for me to be able to address their social emotional needs.”

  • Be the Difference

    Funded Dec 4, 2019

Thank you so much for the iPad. Your donation has provided us with resources for students who are struggling with bullying. The use of the iPad during our small group sessions allows students to research different resources. Through diferentiation and this extra suppot, I am able to allow students to participate who otherwise would be shy. I help teach them anti-bullying strategies and my special education students also feel comfortable participating. I have paired up my students to help provide information and anti-bullying skills through the use of technolgy. The Ipad allows me to access the wesbites during group or individual counseling in my office, when other technology is not available.”
