  • Exploring the Arts

    Thank you so much for your contributions to my school's arts program! My students were very excited to use new materials they haven't used before.

    We used the boards with acrylic paints to learn about Jackson Pollock and we even used golf balls with paint to mimic his movements as he painted! The kids really loved exploring a new medium and style of painting! We also used straws to blow the paint around to create hair raising self-portraits!

    My next steps in teaching visual arts to my students is to continue to open their creativity while exploring more about artists and different art styles. My students can't wait!”

    This classroom project was brought to life by New Teacher Fund and 10 other donors.
The card stock and display boards I have selected will be used to create art forms of shadow puppetry, the yarn and craft sticks will be used for weaving, and the canvas boards and paper will be used to explore modern art with acrylics. I'm going to teach my students about theater and various art forms through the use of different mediums that we have not experienced yet, like puppetry. I can't wait to have my students make their own shadow puppets and make them come alive through storytelling and music! I also want to do a Jackson Pollock piece with the canvas boards which will be so exciting as well!
