Fun with Fundations: Let’s Get Reading!
Funded Aug 14, 2024Once again, thank you so much for your generous donations! Our students were excited to quickly use the materials. Right now, we are introducing our new foundational program and our students wasted no time taking over our drill sounds routine and making words. They are truly excited to learn, and as a teacher, there is no greater feeling.
The materials help to keep our sound cards organized, provide a space to model concepts and handwriting, and is mobile enough to meet the needs of our small group intervention routine. Thank you so much for making this possible for my students, it is truly appreciated.”

Funded Sep 6, 2023Thank you so much for you continued generosity! I wish you could have seen the looks on the children's faces when they walked into our room and saw our beautiful new carpet.
This classroom carpet has had a huge impact on our day to day routines. It is double the size of our previous rug and also allows us to space the children out with it's easy to see circle designs. We use the rug for our morning meetings, whole group mini lessons, and small group instruction. The rug also provides a great flexible seating option and is a favorite choice to stretch out and read during our independent reading times and special Flashlight Fridays. Thank you all so much!”

Funded Mar 30, 2023Thank you so much for your support! Our students were so excited for their new books. The National Geographic books that we received are excellent for our research project.
After receiving the books, we allowed the students to choose one animal they wanted to research for their animal research project. These books are great to teach them text features because the have a table of contents, photographs, captions, information boxes, a glossary, and an index. All of our students love these books because of the colorful photographs and interesting facts.
I am very excited to see how their projects turn out. Once again, thank you so much!”

Funded Nov 6, 2022Once again, thank you so much for your contributions. The students are very excited to work with the buzzer system. We have been trying to use them at least once a week with our Jeopardy games. The children create the questions and then compete against each other to answer the questions with the buzzers.
When they first saw the buzzers, their excitement was evident. The engagement for our lessons increases as soon as we bring out the buzzers. They children enjoy playing against other teams. They work very well with in their own teams as well. Thank you!”

Internet Explorers
Funded Sep 20, 2022Once again, thank you so much for your generosity. These chromebooks have made all the difference in my classroom. Each of my students is assigned to their own laptop which facilitates logging in and decreases the amount of teacher support they need which in turn allows for more precious instructional time.
We utilize our technology in a multitude of ways to supplement our instruction. Some examples are by using iReady, a program that creates individual pathways for our students to learn math and reading and provides the teachers with reports to best meet their individual needs. We are also fortunate enough to have access to various digital libraries which helps us for our many research projects and independent reading.
All of my students love the new chromebook additions to our classroom and are excited to learn. Thank you so much!”

Funded Sep 23, 2021Thank you so much for your generous donations. With the new technology, we are able to access many learning websites as well as our Google classroom for assignments. In this ever changing world, computer competency is a must and our new laptops allow our students to have access to all our technology has to offer.
The most exciting part of using the technology for most of our students is the access to digital libraries. All students are able to enjoy many different titles on their level or listen to books that interest them. Many of my students with disabilities particularly enjoy the technology and listening to stories.
Once again, thank you so much!”

Funded Dec 13, 2020I'm so grateful for your generosity during this extraordinary time. This school year has been unlike any that the teachers and students have ever experienced.
Normally my class works in small groups and partnerships. This year, we are unable to group and work together as we were so used to doing prior to the pandemic. The technology that you provided has given us an opportunity to connect even from six feet apart. Using the tablets, the children can connect to our online platforms where they can collaborate digitally, play games as a class, and virtually work together. In addition, we have started a brand-new reading program with many digital components that our students now have access to thanks to your generous donations.
The students love the tablets. It is exciting to be able to use the most up to date technology and learn at the same time. This year has taken an emotional toll on many of my students. Please know that your contribution has brighten their days and brought a smile to their faces. We are so thankful for each and every one of you. Once again, thank you.”

Funded Aug 18, 2019Once again, thank you so much for your very generous donations. We have put our Kleen Slates to good use, especially during math. Being able to do math problems on our slates has been a very engaging experience for our students. They look forward to math and keep a close eye on the slate basket for when they will get to use them next. The slates enable us to closely monitor what our students are doing, formatively assess their work, and most of all provide a fun way to do our math activities. They also allow us to put our own sheets in a sleeve for multiple uses so as not to waste paper.
The students' reactions to the the slates was priceless. The different colors instantly drew them in and their first words were, "When do we get to use them?"
We have been using our slates exclusively in our station rotation while the students get used to handling them and taking proper care of them. The goal is to incorporate the slates into mini lessons as well as a quick assessment tool. Thank you all so much for giving our students so engaging materials!”

Funded Dec 9, 2018Thank you so much for your support. We have our copier up and running and it has made life so much easier in our classroom. This copier also doubles as a printer which will come in handy as we complete our nonfiction writing unit. The students will have the option to type their reports and print them using our copier.
Our class has a broad range of academic levels. This copier's main function is to provide materials for our students on their level. In one lesson, we may have up to 6 or 7 different worksheets/activities depending on the group. This copier allows us to make enough copies for our groups and give differentiated instruction to our kids. In addition, with never ending budget cuts, we are forced to provide our own paper in our classroom. The ten reams that were donated will go a long way. We all appreciate your generosity. Once again, thank you!”

Funded Dec 16, 2018Thank you so much for your donations. When the children walked into the room and saw brand new, sharpened pencils at their tables, their eyes lit up. There was no fighting over who got the pencil with the eraser because they all had them and with your donation, they will continue to have them for a long while. Our more worn folders have been replaced and we have charts for our daily use. The students have their eyes on the brand new colored pencils we received. They have been promised that they will get to use them to illustrate their nonfiction writing books by the end of the week. You can't put a price on their excitement over something as simple as new supplies. Just know your contribution has made a world of difference and is greatly appreciated.”
