  • Brain Food!

    Funded Feb 21, 2025

You are all SO amazing! We we are able to get our snacks for testing! The kids are going to be so excited! They will also be less nervous, have a fuller tummy, and feel more relaxed.

Thank you so very much! There are not enough words to express my gratitude.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Johnson

  • Knowledge Nest

    Funded Oct 2, 2024

My students will be so happy! We will have a table that we don't have to borrow and give back. It will stay with my classroom from now on!

Thank you so very much! I don't have enough words to tell you how appreciative I am for your donations!”

  • Brain Food

    Funded Jan 23, 2024

Hello Donors! My apologies for not getting this letter out to you sooner. ALL of my EL students who needed to take their annual language assessment, truly loved the snacks you provided.

They were less nervous and more focused during their testing. The snacks were a calming distraction from the stress of taking the ELPA test. It also provided a comfort because they knew that if they didn't eat the snack while testing, they could take it home and save it for later.

Your donations are such an amazing support for the students I see everyday! I could not provide the types of things that you are able to to provide for them. My heart is truly full from this particular project because it eased stress, it calmed nerves, it provided a distraction, all while having to take statewide mandated testing; which is separate from their actual content state testing.

    Thank you.”

  • Classroom Carpet

    Funded Dec 31, 2023

Thank you for your donations. The students LOVE the new carpet and really enjoy having their "own" space when they come into the classroom. It makes it so much easier for them to know what the expectation is when they have a designated spot to sit on.

I opened up the carpet after school one day. The kids had no idea it was here. When they came to groups the next day, they were so very excited! They just lit up! They asked how I was able to get the carpet and I told them that we had a lot of amazing people share their money to help us get the carpet. Several students shouted "Thank you!" when I told them about you, the donors.

For the first few days, I allowed the students to sit wherever they wanted and try different spots. Once they were a little more settled, they were able to pick their own spot. This helped them find and "own" their own space. We are no longer crowded on a small rug! We have used the carpet to have group discussions, play games, and just have more room to ourselves.

We are going to treasure this carpet for a long time! Again, thank you for your kindness and support.”

    Mrs. Johnson

  • Sharp And Colorful

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

The students absolutely loved being able to use their colors of the world pencils! They have used them to match the tone of their own skin when coloring themselves and their families! One student has even took a few out to match to my skin when she was drawing a picture of me.

This has had a huge impact on making them feel seen and secure in their own differences. They loved being able to represent themselves, their families, and friends in pictures.

And with the pencil sharpener, they don't have to worry about having a "dull" moment when drawing and coloring their pictures.

    Thank you so very much!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Johnson

  • Early Readers for Research

    Funded May 5, 2022

The non-fiction early readers that were donated by you have made a huge impact on my students. They have helped the EL students feel like they are able to write true information about animals which in turn, has helped them write non-fiction genre in general.

They typically write non-fiction books in the spring. Now that they have books that they can read on their own and find facts about their topic, they feel so much more successful as both readers and writers.

I am super excited for the new 1st and 2nd graders to be able to use these books again this year! They love feeling like they are able to do their own research! Many of the students also love checking out these books to take home and share the information with their families.

Thank you for your continued support of the students I teach and our classroom. You are very much appreciated!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Johnson

  • Acceptance, Kindness, and a little bit of Funny!

    Funded Mar 22, 2022

My ELD students absolutely love the books we were able to order due to your kind donations! Our school has really been focusing on social-emotional well being and having books that talk about feelings and acceptance help the students to understand and connect better to their own emotions.

When we discuss social-emotional learning in my groups, starting with a book or a story helps them think and discover how others might feel. It allows them to see that feeling the same way as the characters or people in the books is okay and it gives them strategies to use for their own well-being.

I teach from kindergarten to third grade in small groups. I do most of the reading when we are learning something or connecting our knowledge to a book. However, I do allow students to borrow books to take home or read in their classrooms. Many of the kids love looking at the pictures, having new books in their book boxes or in their take home book bags, or having their parent or teacher read them a new story to them or their class. They LOVE being able to borrow books that they sometimes might not have a chance to get.

Thank you again for your kindness in donating towards the EL class library. We appreciate you so very, very much.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Johnson

  • Pop-It, Slime, Ice Cream Floats!

    Funded Dec 1, 2021

The classrooms of students that earned these prizes were so elated! They could take the pop-its home and the silly straws for the pizza party. They were able to eat pizza with their friends in their classroom and watch a movie.

This was so impactful in another way too. Since the pandemic, our students have missed out on assemblies, field trips, and guest visitors for two years. This was something they needed and worked very hard towards. It will be a fun memory they get to take with them all year long.

    Thank you again.”

  • Sanitize & True Representation

    Funded Oct 26, 2021

The students and staff have been so very thankful for the Dial soap! We have it in the staff restrooms and in multiple classrooms for students to use during the day. The colored crayons to match skin tones were amazing! The students in my English Language groups were so happy that they had more to choose from besides peach and brown for skin tones. It made them so excited to find the color that matched their own tones the best and use them in their narrative stories.

My next steps are to continue to offer any new student in my English Language group a box of skin tones to use on their work. I have also offered a few of my extras to classroom teachers to allow more students to use them and better identify their skin tones. I am also hoping to order some more coloring tools, such as colored pencils and markers, that match skin tones. Then students would have an array of tools to use to represent their true selves in their everyday work.”

  • Summer School Oceans

    Funded Jun 22, 2021

You helped make summer school so much fun! The students had a blast and the classroom looked like they were under the sea!

The students were in awe when they came in. They loved the projects and decorations that we were able to do. When I told them that there were many people online who helped make it all happen, they were so thankful!

They played with the reusable sticker pads daily and said the hanging jellyfish lanterns made it look like they were floating in the ocean. Many of them wanted to take the ocean stickers home for their brothers and sisters. It was so cute!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Johnson

My groups are made up of English Language Learners and using English to demonstrate their learning and understanding of concepts can create a barrier for them. Being able to give students the opportunity to express their ideas and learning through group posters, pictures, diagrams, charts, and demonstrations is so important. They love to see their work hanging up in the hallways or on the wire in my classroom. The students in my groups are highly motivated, love to learn, and want to show their learning in multiple ways! Even when their language causes a slight barrier, they love to share what they understand using other modalities of learning. The supplies I am asking for will help students create t-charts to show cause and effect; Venn diagrams to compare and contrast; sentence patterning chart to show how they put English sentences together correctly using adjectives, nouns, verbs, prepositions, and more. The chart markers help to indicate the different parts of sentences with color so they can show how the parts work together, allow students to visually demonstrate the different sides of Venn diagrams, and to help distinguish between two stories, characters, or parts of speech. The clothespins are used to hang the students' charts and diagrams in the classroom on our class wire or out in the hallway to display their work. The card-stock makes the projects and charts more sturdy and helps them last longer. It is also used to help students create projects or colored folders to keep their work in. The sandwich baggies help us keep our vocabulary words, sentences, chart pieces, and more organized and safe. Thank you for your support!
