First grade is full of movement! My students are ALWAYS looking for a fun new way to learn something. First grade can also be a challenging growth year for children. Students go from reading short sentences, to reading paragraphs and books! It is amazing to me how much growth happens in one school year. I love being a first grade teacher because it is always so rewarding to see how much learning takes place from the beginning of the year to the end. My school, Truman Primary, is so incredible because it offers many different ways to help my students as well as other classrooms learn not only from me, but from many other resources throughout our school. We have teachers throughout the school, (Gifted Specialist, English Language Specialist, Counselor, Librarian, and much more) come into our classrooms to promote learning in so many new and exciting ways! It is always fun learning new things and that is what makes my first grade classroom so great!
