Charting Our Ideas
Funded Dec 28, 2016Thank you so much for your generous donation of books and charting materials to our classroom. Your support has made a meaningful impact on both our learning environment and our students' enthusiasm for reading and exploration.
The new books have sparked curiosity and excitement—students are eager to dive into new stories, expand their vocabulary, and discover new ideas. The charting materials have also been incredibly helpful in supporting visual learning and classroom engagement. Whether we're mapping out story elements, tracking our goals, or building vocabulary walls, your contributions are now part of our everyday learning.
Your generosity has not only provided valuable resources, but also reminded our students that there is a community cheering them on. Thank you for investing in their growth, imagination, and future.”

The Essentials
Funded Apr 13, 2025On behalf of my students and myself, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you for your generous donation of healthy snacks to our classroom.
When the boxes first arrived in our class the students were super excited to see what we received. Your kindness made more of a difference than you may realize. With the nutritious snacks you provided, our students were able to stay energized, focused, and ready to learn throughout the day. For some of them, it was more than just a snack—it was a boost in confidence, comfort, and care that helped them thrive in the classroom.
It's amazing how something as simple as a granola bar or a fruit pouch can uplift a child's day, and you made that possible. Your support reminded our students that there are people out there who care deeply about their well-being and success. That's a powerful lesson in kindness and community.
Thank you again for being part of our journey. We truly appreciate you.”

Funded Oct 27, 2016Thank you for allowing our class to the materials we soo desperately needed. Our students in the class are able to reach their max potential in due part because of your donations. All materials allow our students to reading materials at their reading level. All materials are geared to allow the students to new materials that we don't have available in our school district. As you may know with all the budget cuts its downright impossible to ask for desperately needed materials.
By donating to donors choose you allow teachers like me in a poor district access to materials our students soo desperately need. The use and impact of these materials won't go unnoticed rather more classes will be able to have access to these materials after this class leaves me this year. The students are really enjoying their reading essentials.
Please allow this to be a small gesture of our gratitude.”

Funded Mar 3, 2018Thank you for providing my students with the necessary tools needed to thrive and succeed. The Osmo kit is a wonderful device that allows students who struggle as well as those who are at grade level an opportunity to learn at their pace in a fun interactive way. We love using the Osmo during center time when all the students known the expectations and learn at their own pace. My kids absolutely love their "game" but I know that without it the joy of learning would be minimal.
When we first saw the box all the kids were excited to open it, once we opened it they all wanted to try it. After some daily practice now they are able to use it on their on without me helping them set it up. The all take turns and enjoy their fun activity.
We have set up another donors choose this time with add ons in order for the students to continue using the Osmo with different activities.”

Funded May 23, 2017I would like to personally thank you for donating to my project. My students, who aren't all at grade level are now able to read time articles as well as books that expose them to women, who are strong individuals. While reading at grade level isn't something my students do they do enjoy reading. I work on chunking text/ materials to them ad then working on skills like main idea, summarizing and theme. I use anchor charts and a text they enjoy to listen to and read. We work on the skill as a whole group and then we move on to get them to work with a peer.
Reading in my class is something that occurs daily. My kids have a rug they can sit together or have small rugs they can sit independently on. They choose a book they can read like she persisted or read a magazine at their level like the time magazines. Kids can take book homes as well as a copy of the time magazine as long as they bring the book/ article back within a week.
In conclusion, my kids will greatly benefit from your donation. We are greatly enjoying the Time magazines as well as high interest books.”

Funded Sep 27, 2016My students have been extremely grateful for all the materials they received. The dry erase sheets have allowed a wide range of students to read the materials and be ale to answer questions, find evidence and allowed for them to learn from one another. These materials allow for my students to practice the skills they have learned in the classroom such as main idea, citing evidence and reading nonfiction text. The students love using their task cards to work with partners as well as work on their own on task we learned during the week.
The students have a great time working as a group, pairs or on their own on many different tasks and thanks to you this is made possible and accessible due to the task cards. All the students, but particularly the 3rd- 5th grade population has greatly enjoyed your donation.
Thank you from all my students for thinking of us!”

Funded Sep 5, 2016When we think of a healthy school environment we think of how would it be if students actually learn from one another. The small round table I requested in my Donor choose's project allows for just that. My students have spent countless days working in pairs, triads as well as independently. They love to have a place other than their desk to work on writing, read a book or work on projects. Also, my guided reading groups meet at the round table.
I recall when my students first saw the table. They were eager to use the table. I explained to them that this was a gift from donors at an organization called Donor's choose. The students were very intrigued to see how this web site and organization worked. They were very grateful and even wrote letters to say thank you to you. They love the way the table has allowed for them to be more independent and has allowed for them to work with others. The guided reading groups have nicely warmed up to the idea of reading, writing and working on vocabulary on the table, which makes it easy for them to get all these things done. When not working on guided reading groups my students are working in centers and they enjoy having the ability to work on the table as groups to get their work done.
I want to assure you that your donation will not only impact the numerous students I work with this year, but for many years to come. This table will provide accessibility to others in a place that is created just for that. My students enjoy the classroom I have provided for them because its made with lots of resources, but the addition of a round table has allowed for that proximity my students want and need to help them develop. Thank you again for thinking of the wonderful children of Paterson.”
