  • A Space to Learn and Grow

    Funded Sep 6, 2023

Thank you so much for your support in getting my students a small group table to work at. This year, the number of students that require direct, small group instruction is larger than normal, which means that my small group table requires more space to include all students that need support. Your donation has allowed 8-10 students to come to my table to receive the instruction they need to access the grade level curriculum. In fact, we adjusted the classroom design and attached an additional table to the one you donated!

Your support has allowed ALL students that need specially designed instruction, accommodations and/or modifications to have them in order to make progress AND have enough space to use all the tools needed to learn. Again, thank you for your donation...it is GREATLY appreciated!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Burns

  • Dress Up Clothes to Enhance Learning

    Funded Aug 9, 2022

Thank you so much for donating to our classroom! We all LOVED the dress-up clothes and materials funded by the project. It was so exciting to use them to enhance our learning and language skills.

So far, we have used the dress up clothes to act out stories in our Folk Tale unit. The students dressed up as characters including Beast, Beauty, the fisherman and his wife, Paul Bunyon and Casey Jones to retell the tales using the vocabulary learned within daily instruction. We also used the Asian dress, suit and dim sum set to celebrate Chinese New Year after learning about Ancient Asian Civilizations. We are all excited to learn about the Westward Expansion in December and use the prairie boy and girl clothes.

Your donation has allowed the children to build their language and presentation skills in a hands-on and meaningful way. These materials have been highly motivating to them and allowed them to apply what they learned beyond the dramatic play opportunities. Your support is so appreciated.”

  • Learning Through Play

    Funded Aug 12, 2021

Thank you so much for the Learning Through Play items you donated to our classroom. We used them throughout the year to apply what we learned tin our Knowledge block through play based activities.

My students LOVED all of the items, especially those that were hands-on. A few favorites included the dobby horses to re-create the pony express and the camp fire to sit around and retell folk tales that we were studying. The students also enjoyed studying insects under the microscope in order to identify their body parts and unique characteristics.

Next year I will build upon these play based activities by embedding more content and student led discourse into these experiences. Thank you again for aiding me in providing my students with these experiences.”

  • A Monitor to "Monitor" Instruction

    Funded Oct 14, 2020

Thank you so much for funding my project. If I had only one word to describe this past school year, I would use the word TOUGH! I taught from the 1st day of school through April 5th remote, with most of those days being in my home office. Your donations allowed me to have a second screen...and not just any second screen, but a HUGE second screen! Once I had the monitor you funded, I could see all of my students at the same time! This was a game changer during lessons and when checking work. I knew who was engaged and who needed just a bit more encouragement. When checking work, I saw their efforts up close and as if I were looking at it in person. Additionally, as a Special Education Teacher, I attended many IEP meetings. Having the second screen allowed me to multi-task during meetings. I could keep data in front of me, pull-up past IEPs and refer to goals all while still engaged in the meeting without having to log into a second device.

Thank you for your generosity. Your kindness made this difficult year that much easier for me.

    Stay well and take care.”

  • Classroom Tools for Remote Learning

    Funded Jul 25, 2020

I want to thank you for your generosity during these uncertain times. Through your donation I was able to provide each of the students on my caseload with a remote learning toolkit that proved vital this school year. Due to the high COVID numbers in our community, my school district has remained in a 100% remote learning model all year. While I am unable to teach my students in person, each day will learn together in our virtual classroom. My students have shown shown me what perseverance and resiliency truly mean by engaging in learning through a computer screen. Using the materials your donation funded, I have seen their reading and math abilities develop in a way that I never imagined two months ago. I am proud to be their teacher.

Thank you for kindness and generosity. Stay well.”

  • Getting Our Wiggles Out with Wobble Chairs and Sensory Toys

    Funded Aug 13, 2019

Thanks you so much for funding my project. My students will benefit greatly from the flexible seating options and sensory tools. By providing these choices within my classroom, I will have the tools to allow them to develop their sensory regulation. Your generosity will allow me to further meet my students' need.”

My classroom is made up of a variety unique learners all having unique learning styles. Providing students with a number of seating options from which to choose will allow them to have a measure of control over their learning and "get their wiggles out." In addition to the wobble stools, having access to sensory toys and fidgets will allow them to keep their hands busy during whole and small group instruction. By adding wobble stools to our classroom, my students will be able to add movement to their academic work time. These tools will increase student engagement and focus for all learners.
