Our current curriculum has no science materials to capture the interest of early learners like my 2nd graders! There are some books in our reading program that touch on science content, but that is all. With the changing career choices in our modern world, young people must learn STEM subject matter if they hope to compete in the job market, and the sooner the better. Recent research also shows the power of play in learning for young children. No subject captures the attention of busy learners like science because of its play-like experiments and activities. Essential building block academic skills like math and reading are also supported in these learning activities.
