Discovering Ocean Life At The Aquarium
Funded Apr 4, 2019Our class trip to the aquarium was so exciting and amazing. We couldn't wait to enter the aquarium and see all the wonderful animals that were waiting for us. Our students had been learning about penguins in class; just imagine the look on their faces when they were able to see real live penguins at the aquarium!! The shark exhibit was beautiful and magnificent. Students loved going through the tunnel of one of the big shark tanks. They were in awe exploring the gigantic shark tanks with different kinds of sea creatures. The highlight of our trip was the amazing and entertaining sea lion show where we learned about sea lions and their environment. We also created consciousness of the importance of taking care of our natural environment. Your gift created an experience we had not had before as a class, we are grateful for our learning experience. Thank you.”

We Read In Two Languages; That's Our Super Power
Funded Mar 27, 2018Teaching reading in kindergarten is impossible without books. That is why these guided reading books are so important to have in our classroom. These books have just the right amount of text that kindergartners can handle to start learning to read.
In our classroom we teach reading in small groups. These sets of guided reading books will give students enough books to read during reading instruction. Students are introduced to these books in their guided reading groups then they practice reading them independently.
Our classroom is truly grateful to all the donors that have made our students have access to these amazing Spanish books. Thanks to all of you, our students can read in two languages.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Ripple and 6 other donors.Rolling Our Way to Writing!
Funded Feb 2, 2017All of the members of our classroom community have been delighted and thankful with the materials that your contribution has provided for our classroom. The special felt tip pens were excellent all year long for writing workshop. Students looked forward to drawing and writing everyday with these pens. The play dough was a huge hit in the word work station. Students were fascinated by making words with them as well as manipulating them (rolling, squeezing, pounding).
When the materials arrived, our students were so excited to get their hands on them. We had run out of play dough and had no special pens so receiving these materials was like Christmas time in our class.
Our class continues to use these wonderful materials to enhance the word work station as we learn more and more words. We also will continue to write and publish books during writers workshop and the post it tapes and pens are a great resource for editing and revising our work.
We are so grateful for your contribution. Our class would like to thank you with our most sincere thanks. Thank you!”

What is a Kindergarten Classroom Without Art!?
Funded Jul 6, 2012It is with much gratitude that I can convey how your contribution has impacted my classroom. It is my students first time in school so having a center with art supplies was very important to their creative and physical development (fine motor skills).
Thanks to your contribution my students are painting, drawing, cutting, gluing and enjoying their art center as they create their very own art work.
Thank you for providing these very needed supplies and giving 26 kindergartners the opportunity to develop their creative juices.”

What If First Graders Can Publish and Bind Their Own Stories
Funded Dec 16, 2011Thank you very much for your contribution to our classroom. The book binding machine and supplies you donated have enthused my first graders to do more writing in class. With this new tool and bright colored paper my students look forward to writer's workshop everyday! They are excited about writing books and watching these being bound and turned into books. They are very proud of their books and are eager to read them to others and to start writing new ones.
We are very grateful to your donation and would like to thank you once again for your generosity. You have brought excitement and joy to our first grade class and have helped discover a love of writing in the lives of 6 and 7 year olds.”

A Functioning Listening Center for my Kindergartners
Funded Jul 21, 2008Dear Donors,
Thank you so much for funding our classroom listening center. I am very excited about beginning another school year with your generous gift. I am sure that my incoming kindergartners will be delighted to use our new listening center. You have given inner city kids the gift of listening to stories in a way that is fun and exciting to them. Once again thank you and expect to hear from us soon as the little ones will be able to thank you themselves.
Greatly appreciative,
Mrs. Ramona ”
